My wife purchased the Kindle 3 months ago and she has no regrets with this amazing piece of technology for avid readers! Her love of reading has been enhanced with this device's portability and amazing capability of holding all her favorite ebooks available to her at a click of a button. She takes the Kindle with her everywhere! I have purchased a few books on the Kindle, however, unable to read any since my wife always has "custody" of HER Kindle. May need to make a purchase of my own in the near future.
Our local dentist and physician were able to see the Kindle in person on her visits to the office. Now they too are convinced on purchasing a Kindle for themselves. Apparently, they were also reading the reviews through Amazon and were debating on making the purchase. Now that my wife shared the Kindle up close and personal with them, their minds have been set to make a purchase for themselves.
Wonderful product for anyone who loves to read.
The cover needs redesign August 19, 2008

The device is fantastic. The design of the leather cover is completely inconsistent with the device. The kindle falls out constantly. I had to use velcro dots to fix it in place. Please reconsider the way the kindle fits in the holder. The manual says there is a clip on the back of the kindle to lock it in place - there is no clip!

The latest books delivered instantly to your personal Kindle. I recently read a book review in a WSJ article. I purchased, downloaded, and was reading the book - in seconds. Incredible!
Reasonable prices; easy to learn; light weight and very convenient. I particularly love the high contrast of the text which allows reading even in dim light.
It takes a bit of effort to learn not to accidentally turn pages, but once I overcame my 'fat thumb' syndrome it was a breeze to operate. It also helped when I learned to bookmark - just like when you put down a hardback or paperback book. Kindle always remembers your place, but since 'stuff happens'.. A bookmark is a good backup.
While the reflectivity of the screen is very low, there is some glare when using a reading light in bed. I would like to see an accessory light which is made specifically for Kindle; a detachable, not built-in because that would add weight and use Kindle's power.
Kindle has quickly become indispensable. It now goes where I go.

I received the Kindle about 4 days ago. At this point I have downloaded two books, read one, and look forward to reading the other one. I have also subscribed to one of the blogs. I read a lot of books and thought that I would miss holding a book and that reading the Kindle would seem awkward and not like reading a book. The screen is so clear and the font size so adjustable that the transition from reading a book to the Kindle required absolutely no adjustment for me. The device is absolutely amazing. Being able to shop for a book and download it in less than 10 seconds is absolutely amazing. I absolutely love this device. It is the best $350 I ever spent. I look forward to reading many more books on the Kindle. You certainly can't beat the price of the books either. Amazon, I have shopped with you for several years, and I look forward to many more. You have a hit with this device.
