4 out of 5 stars Great   June 22, 2008

Great and takes decent photos. Has 3 size settings, the highest being 1.3px which isn't bad for a cheap webcam. Doesn't work too well at night.

1 out of 5 stars Terrible Webcam   June 15, 2008
My experience with this webcam has been terrible. When it actually IS working correctly, the quality is pretty poor to begin with. The problem is that at least 50% of the times it goes psycho and flashes red, blue, orange, etc instead of capturing a clear image. I don't recommend this webcam at all.

2 out of 5 stars Just OK   June 13, 2008

Being a new father, I purchased this camera for use with Skype to allow my parents to see their first grandchild regularly. I had been using the camera built into my MacBook Pro, but I also wanted a camera on my desktop for use when I am traveling on business.

I was really enticed by the Logitech-supplied head-to-head comparison against the Mac's built in camera. However, I found that the real result was not at all as advertised.

My desktop is superior to my laptop in every way - 2x more RAM, 4 processors vs. 2 (and the workstation's are faster), faster hard drive, and a wired connection instead of wireless. This should have been an unfair comparison from the laptop's point of view.

As soon as I received the package, I was very excited to get it up and running. Installation was extremely simple and went very smoothly. We immediately called my parents to try it out. Unfortunately, we found that the video wound up stuttering and the "Right Light" technology could not settle on a lighting level. We wound up killing it and switching immediately to the laptop - no problems. We tried the Logitech a few more times with same result always. As a result, we have switched back to the laptop and given up on the Logitech for now.

I personally suspect that the "Right Light" feature is to blame. When I have some free time, I will try to rework the lighting in my office to be more ideal.

4 out of 5 stars Logitech webcam   June 6, 2008
Logitech webcam. Bought two for video sharing with parents/grandparents. Both installed very easily on two different laptops. Neither one worked with Yahoo Messenger, so I switched to AIM and both worked with no problems. Enjoy! FYI...logitech has great/fast customer service/technical support.
