I have a question November 29, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
like everyone else I had a real bad experience with this laptop now it doesn't work I would like to know more about the lawsuit if anyone has details about it, I would like to hear about it
thanks
Good laptop for the price August 1, 2006 I've had this laptop for almost 2 years, purchaed in 10/04. I've only had two problems.
1. The tiny screw that holds the cover to the memory is broken. Probably my fault. 2. The plastic latch broke. Fixed in less that two days locally, no charge.
If you want to play games, then this is not the laptop for you. It is fine for basic tasks and watching a DVD. Get ear phones for the audio, especially for CDs.
I find the touchpad difficult, so bought a small wireless mouse. I use a normally USB keyboard when working at home. All laptop keyboards feel crampted, not just this one.
I'll probably replace it next year, but I will almost certainly by Toshiba again, or may one of the Apple MacBook Pros.
What a piece of crap. May 4, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this thing in December of 2004. It worked fine for about 6 months, and then there was the battery problem where the battery wouldn't charge because of a weak connection inside the computer... There if a fix for it, but if you dont know how to use solder then dont waste your time. Anyway. The laptop is completely dead now, and thats the end of the story.
Try a better brand such as HP, IBM, or Apple.
Waste of Money April 17, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
You think if you spend a lot of money on something, it would reflect the quality of the product. Don't get this notebook. You will have to deal with it shutting off for no reason after a couple of months, with no tech support to help out. I should of got a Dell. I will never buy a Toshiba again.
Loose AC adaptor jack and Lockup/shut-down problems April 15, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had my M35X-S149 for about 14 months. Overall, it works OK but with two problems: 1)lockup/shut-down problem, that sometimes when I touched the metal part of the laptop, it suddenly turned off. 2) The power adaptor jack get loose recently, and I need to operate the machine with battery on all the time. However, if I touch the power cord or move the laptop, the charging LED will go off and the battery will ran out.
