W.E.B. has lost it April 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've read every book W.E.B. Griffin has put out. His last two have not been good. I would liked to see the author's outline for this book. 1.Devote 20 pages to every character mentioned in books 1-3 2.40 pages about the dog 3.Charlie needs a son, work that in some how 4.Wrap up final action sequence in 20 pages or less
Don't Start Here April 20, 2008 The Presidential Agent series is not WEBG's best work, although this volume is a little better than those he merely co-wrote with his son. But if you're new to Griffin, don't throw him out with this bathwater -- his earlier series are much more enjoyable and enthralling. I've read them all -- more than once -- and I suggest that his best is "The Corps." Following close on are "Brotherhood of War" and "Badge of Honor." None of these is Balzac or even Hemingway, but they are all riveting and fun to read, full of characters that you enjoy being with. (And you can challenge yourself to find the typos!)
Griffin hits the mark again April 6, 2008 The ONLY thing I don't like about Mr. Griffin's books is that because they're so hard to put down, I'm done with them in no time. If you've read any of his other novels, you know the standard format, but you also know that the storylines are unique in each series, and the characters top notch. Every time I read one of his books I can't wait for the next one. The Shooters is no different. Excellent read, nearly impossible to put down, and left me wanting more.
An excellent pick for any listener strong in audio intrigue. April 4, 2008 Dick Hill's experienced voice lends drama and appeal to the fast-paced espionage story of one Castillo, who quickly finds himself over his head in dealing with an international drug trade ring and balancing between presidential dictate and a missing man. Intelligence and military objectives catch Castillo squarely in the middle in a tense drama packed with intrigue and powerful twists of plot. An excellent pick for any listener strong in audio intrigue.
