5 out of 5 stars BUY THIS PHONE YOU WON'T REGET IT... just from who you buy it from.   February 22, 2008

This phone is amazing. I am a high school student who has a computer repair business and this phone does everything for me. The camera is very nice. The mirror on the back is weird and makes it hard to take pictures if you try to use it. NO VIDEO (I think the service blocks it from working). It is very fast. I had a pantec duo slider that thing was slower than a short bus with three wheels full of spedz(special eds). The ball is sexy and easy to use. GPS works fast. Opera Mini browser is really cool too I recommend it over the stock internet browser. Keyboard is easy to type just give yourself a few messages to get use to it. The speaker sounds incredibly good especially if you take off the back the speaker becomes bare great for listening to music quietly and studying. SO MANY TOOLS and applications from blackberry and big name software creators. SD CARD worked like a charm. Computer software was recently updated to 4.3 and that works a lot better and looks a lot better two. Its a great phone I would totally recommend it. Syncs with tons of stuff. BUT ATT sucks they don't even understand how to hook the phone up to their systems. This is a review about the phone not the service provider so I won't get into it.

1 out of 5 stars Curve is great; AT&T Service is a disaster   February 20, 2008

Having had several blackberries with other carriers, I expected this setup to be easy -- AT&T is an unmitigated disaster. First, the phone was shipped with a SIM card but NO sim card installation instructions and no where to find it in an easy fashion on their poor website...oh and don't try tech chat -- it's closed when it's supposed to be open. I never had these problems with other carriers -- once I figured out the SIM thing, I loaded personal email accounts just like I had previously -- except it won't work -- and guess what -- no possible help from AT&T.

If I can't get help, it's going to be returned. If you are a newbie to b-berry, I strongly suggest you find a better carrier that has customer service.

5 out of 5 stars Great Phone and so much more   February 10, 2008

They don't call it a "CrackBerry" for nothing. I send and receive e-mails from both my personal and professional accounts, monitor bank account activity, check the weather, read the newspaper, organize my time with the calendar, wake up in the morning with the alarm clock, and listen to music (currently 3.6 gigabytes worth = 900 songs) without worry of missing a call, calendar event or e-mail. If you're listening to music on the earbuds when a call comes in, the music pauses while the phone rings. Press the button on cord and you answer the phone using the same earbuds; no need to remove the phone from the holster. When the call is done press the button again and the music resumes. What could be better? It's even got voice activated dialing that recognizes the names you put into your address book. Also watch for the new operating system 4.5 which is rumored to be released soon, which will allow you to record video and use a larger 8GB memory card, along with many other improvements (right now with the 4.2OS the phone will support a 4GB card). All in all a fantastic device...couldn't recommend it more; this phone's a winner. All flip phones are hereby obsolete.

4 out of 5 stars ecellent phone   January 13, 2008

I love this phone it's my first blackberry but I have had a slew of other phones and smartphones. This is a great phone, the only drawbacks are no video capture and no 3G speeds. But I'm sure that RIM will fix that next time around.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   December 14, 2007

I've bought at least 200 items from Amazon and I've never once written a review. With the Blackberry Curve 8310, I can't resist writing one. My husband has an original Blackberry from about 4 years ago. I've used it a few times, mainly on trips, but I didn't think it was particularly intuitive. I never felt comfortable with the features or buttons.

I have 6 kids and a very full calendar. I am constantly finding myself making follow-up dentist/doctor/hair appointments and having to call to reschedule once I reconcile the appointment card with my calendar (this happens whether I am using a paper calendar or my Outlook calendar).

I am often out and about and need a phone number. Late for picking up the kids at preschool? I'm out of luck if I don't have the school number and/or the number of a parent of another preschooler to pick my child up.

I'm the room parent for another child's classroom. I often run into parents who ask me what they signed up to bring for the next classroom event. Easy enough with the new Blackberry.

On Monday mornings after I get the kids on the bus, I sit down with the all-encompassing bin of `for the calendar', `for the address book' and `for the notepad' scraps of paper. I enter them all into Outlook on my desktop computer. This may sound like a
