great detector for the money October 31, 2008 nice unit for the amount paid, worked well on 2000 mile trip, easy to read, picked up most of the alerts including emergency vehicles. compass is nice also for backroading on u.s. highways. came in pleanty of time to get set on dash, and make adjustments. i have paid more for less in the past, this ones a keeper
satisfaction October 18, 2008 The detector arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Directions were easy to understand and was installed and is operating as described.
Worth the price September 17, 2008 Pros: easy to read screen, plenty of set up options, scans all the widley used bands, sleep screen option, seems to be not as sensitive to false signals.
Cons: LARGE size, short power cord, signal indicators.
Unit was easy to set up and in the first 30days of operation has done a good job. It takes some time to get use to the screen changes but does identify the siginal that is tracking you giving you a better idea if it is a false siginal or Johny law. Worth the price - it saved me twice so far avg ticket $150 bucks it paid for itself.
XRS-9959 has met expectations... September 10, 2008 XRS-9959 has met expectations in its limited use thus far. False alarms are minimized by the settings. Easy to set up and easy to use. Lots of options in tailoring to your needs. Would recommend this to others.
Should have bought the Escort. July 26, 2008 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Not sure why I bought this anyway. Maybe just a moment of boredom. When I opened it I couldn't believe the size. It's huge. Not sure why it has to be. Years ago I bought an Escort and it fit in the palm of my hand. This is bigger that my entire hand. It's easier just to drive the speed limit. I have my wife, my GPS and now the third woman in my car telling me what to do. As I drove I found it to be marginally sensitive. Never warned me from a distant. There is a little peace of mind having it there but it is so huge if I was a cop I would give me a ticket for having something that ugly on my dash. There must be a smaller better unit out there. Thanks
