 Well worth the extra cost of a hard drive. November 11, 2008
I knew going in that I could find a normal external hard drive for less but if you have a HP that has the personal media drive bay, this is the way to go.
Just slides in and works with no problems.
They're a little hard to find in the normal electronic box stores so you can't beat Amazon.

I rarely write reviews but I am so happy with this product. It is the easiest to use. No disks or having to load software. Just plug it in and it is ready to go. The price is not bad either. I was expecting to have some sort of problem or glitch but really there was nothing. Very fast transfer. In case you are wondering, it works with Windows Vista.

i haven't tried other ext media drive but this one works, if you have a notebook with a small hard drive like i do, this certainly helps with picture & music storage or as a back-up.

Concept is great but the execution is flawed...after just a few weeks the drive started making a noise (just enough to be annoying and distracting when watching tv or gaming(installed in a media pc),and then the small cooling fan in the drive started making a constant noise as well,it would go away when undocked and if redocked but would come back again shortly.It was just too much noise and would probably lead to a complete failure due to overheating...so I will replace the current drive cage in the case and install 2-3 regular drives in the same place....a little extra work and $$$ for 3 TB of storage.
