HP XB3000 Laptop Adapter is a great deal September 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The HP XB3000 Port Replicator is a great solution for owners of the newer HP laptops who want to use their laptops more like a desktop system. I own two replicators; one for my office and one for home. I simply plug in the one cable to the side of the laptop and I am up and running with the wireless mouse and keyboard and all network connections, external drives, etc.
At work I use the laptop in the station alone but at home I add a 24 inch LCD panel for photo editing and an external drive for file storage of things that are not needed in the office.
The price on Amazon is an exceptionally good one.
It does what it says...that's good! June 10, 2008 HP XB3000 Port Replicator XB3000 My old desktop has recently died and wanted to "dual" my laptop w/ larger monitor and other assorted peripherals. Decided to spend the extra money to purchase a product specific docking station. Worked as promised right out of the box. I would recommend.
Product failed after 6 months April 28, 2008 The xb3000 was an excellent setup for several months. I would have wished for a PCIE slot or side scrolling on the mousewheel, but these are niggles.
After using it for a while though, it started to get very... particular about how I plugged it in. Sometimes audio would not work properly or USB devices would not be recognized unless I plugged the station in very firmly from a specific angle. After another month, I have lost all audio functionality.
HP's warranty on this device is very short, and paying for repairs would likely cost more than the $150 it would cost to replace the unit.
Since the product was so good up until failure, I will try one more time. But be very careful. These seem prone to shorts in the cable, and audio seems to go first from poking around the internet.
Does exactly what it said it would do March 26, 2008 this is great. it puts the screen right at eye level and gives you some extra usb ports for whatever you might need that for. it has speakers built into it which are asi asi. i use my surround speakers with the this laptop so the speakers in the stand don't really matter. it comes with a wireless mouse and keyboard that i will probably switch out later for more ergonomic ones. it has a power switch on the stand that allows you to turn your laptop on and off. it also had volume controls exactly like the ones on your hp. the thing like most about this stand is it is sturdy and it doesn't block any connections ports on your laptop.
Very good purchase March 4, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
well this is my first port replicator, very very useful and its designed for those who like taking care of their lap (like me XD)
