Time consuming, but great results May 11, 2007 >>>Your first copy WILL NOT be as dark as you expected.<<<
If you're still shopping around > get the Verbatim spindle, as it seems to print much darker on your first try.
If you're stuck with the HP spindle > here is the trick: don't panic if your first copy doesn't look good. The disks have a little ring in the middle that tells the burner exactly where to start/resume burning > this means you can put THE SAME disk in the burner and re-print the image, thus resulting in a much darker print. If you have the time to tinker with it, burn it 2-3 or even 4 times for the results you're looking for.
Trust me > I had the same exact reaction at first, but I love working with lightscribe now.
Problem solved.
*Update* Avoid printing the same image over 3 times. 2-3 times will balance contrast vs. sharpness.
professional and artistic March 27, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love LightScribe! The final product is not only professional but artistic and very pleasing if done right. It by far beats the labels which do not look as good and don't play in all systems. They get stuck sometimes. Try LightScribe it is fun to use and rewarding!
agree with J Stern-not a very good copy January 17, 2007 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I made two data dvds and used the HP lightscribe discs. I wasn't very pleased with the outcome either. The pictures were dull and not very clear. To the person who gave it 5 stars don't think I don't know what I was doing..I checked all the color contrast from best to normal, picked what I wanted and the print still came out bad. I will be trying something else because the HP dvds aren't worth the money!
LightScribe ROCKS !!!!! January 10, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
It is obvious the other reviewer does not know what he is talking about. LightScribe provides a professional looking label with enough shades to create some very cool looking labels. If you don't know which fonts to use or how to apply artwork, it can be very challenging to create a good looking label but is definately worth the little extra to buy LightScribe drive and have the option of a LightScribe label. Whats the alternative, a sharpie label? A inkjet self-stick label? Get a life dude and smell the coffee!
Not worth the extra money for Lightscribe January 3, 2007 0 out of 10 found this review helpful
It really isn't worth the extra money to pay for Lightscribe CDs. When you do use Lightscribe, it does even look good. It is very faint and the writing is very small. Just use a label instead...
