Cheapo! October 14, 2008 I bought mine for so cheap, it could have sounded like the speaker on a cell phone. Happily, it sounds much nicer - it even seems to limit my awareness of the really horrible artifacting created by XM's draconian compression routines. It won't get -very- loud, but will certainly fill the next room, while not the whole house, with sound if needed.
I bought this unit to replace the dying base station from my Tao xm2go home kit. This wound up being much cheaper than buying a whole new home kit.
Incidently, the enclosed XM antenna in mine works fine.
My first one was better September 17, 2008 This is the second Altec Lansing docking station I have purchased. The first one works great, but with this one you really have to mess with it to get a signal.
Great for its size and price August 9, 2008 From the famous folks who make speakers for computers, this little docking station is surprising good. Altec Lansing seems to know how to get good sound out of small packages and this is another example. And best of all, it is very reasonably priced.
Great product! July 30, 2008 And what a great price! Even with the high shipping cost, it's one of the best things I've purchased.
I use this at work on my desk. The sound is great and I love being able to listen to satellite radio all day (makes the subscription price even more worth it). There's a window in the office so the antenna can sit on the south-facing windowsill providing perfect reception. Fortunately my office-mate likes the same kind of music!
Great item June 27, 2008 This is the third I buy of these little gems, I have one for the office, the basement and now one for outside, I intend to purchase more at this price I intend to have one in all rooms of the house.
The sound is great for personal use, I would not use it for a party with many people as the sound would not be loud enough.
Great product and at this price you can't miss.
