Rick Steves 21" Roll Aboark, Blue Spruce January 8, 2008 The item is exactly like the one on the RS website. I used this as my only suitcase on a month trip to Italy and it held up fine despite the beating it got. Roomy and expandable. I just love it.
Best roll aboard for travel! July 8, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have had this bag for a couple of years, and it is the only bag I use for travel now. It works for vacations in Europe and the Caribbean and for business travel. It is the best roll aboard that I have ever owned. I use it a couple of times each month, and I am not easy on my luggage. It gets dragged over cobblestones, curbs, steps, dirt roads and grass, and the wheels and other components still work well. It holds more than any of my other 21" roll aboards, and the exterior pockets are very handy. The expansion feature is a big plus when returning home with more than I left with. The zippers are very strong - it is possible to pack it with the expansion feature for initial closing and then to zip close the expansion feature to compress the contents so it fits in an overhead bin.
Since the advent of liquid restrictions, I have been checking the bag instead of rolling it onto the plane, and I have been impressed with how it has held up to luggage handlers - no rips, snags or problems in the fabric, seams or zippers. My husband needs a new bag, and we will be purchasing one of these for him.
If you're looking for a lightweight bag that is durable and versatile - look no further. This is a great bag.
Great, lightweight suitcase June 10, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I was looking for a lightweight wheeled suitcase. This is not only lightweight and very sturdy, but holds a remarkable amount of stuff. You'll love it. I also got the small bag that hooks over the handle and that, too, held more than you would think possible.
Nice little bag June 8, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I just took this bag to Europe. It was not my only bag- but it held a lot for it's size. Since I plan to use it for business in the future, I was concerned that the soft front would make clothing wrinkle more than a standard 21" rolling bag. It did not, because of the rigid sides. So, it gives you the structure of standard bag and the flexibility of a duffle bag. Mostly, I love that it's so light weight- really makes a difference. Also, it survived the trip completely unscathed.
Sent it back April 26, 2007 24 out of 28 found this review helpful
Gave this product three stars because it is indeed lightweight, as advertised, which is no small thing for me - a 4'11" woman. Frankly it is barely middle of the road.
After giving the bag a good lookover, I sent it back because it seems more like a $70 bag. The stitching is poorly executed, the material isn't great, the zipper pulls seem cheap, and the inside lining is kind of funky. The side handle isn't comfortable, and lastly, although the handle pulls out extra long, which is good for a tall person, you can't make it stay at the halfway point, so it isn't good for a short person.
I ended up purchasing the Eagle Creek Tarmac ES 22 - yes more expensive, and 1.5 los heavier, but with many more features and a lifetime unconditional guarantee, it is a much better bang for the buck.
