Worst keyboard ever July 13, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the worst keyboard I've ever owned. I used it for a few minutes, and then tossed it in a pile:
* The spacing of the keys is only a little less than a standard keyboard, but that's enough to make it too small, making the keys too close together, requiring too much concentration to avoid pressing an adjacent key. Typing on it just feels clumsy and flimsy.
* The top of the spacebar is nearly flush with the bezel in front of it, so that when you press the spacebar with your thumb, the top of the spacebar goes below the bezel, smacking your thumb against the bezel, sometimes preventing the spacebar from going down far enough to actuate.
* They tried to make the keytop markings Mac-compatible, by labeling some keys with Mac markings, in blue. Though they properly labeled a key as the Mac's Command key, to the left of the Alt key, with an Apple logo and the Command key cloverleaf symbol, the doofuses labeled what was supposed to be the Alt/Option key (Option being a Mac keyswitch term), as "Alt/alt".
* The left to right order of the modifier keys is not Apple-standard--instead of Function, Control, Option, Command, the BenQ has it as Control, Function, Command, Alt (Option). This is disorienting, especially if you have to use a standard Apple layout keyboard every now and then too.
Excellent April 13, 2007 I wish I'd written when I first bought, because surely some didn't buy due to the other review, and I found this keyboard perfect. It's small - like a laptop, but it's necessary if you have a keyboard tray where your lap drawer would be on a desk, and it's not gigantic. this allows me to have the keyboard and a wireless mouse (full swize) next to it, on the same level. I've had it for a year or two, with NO PROBLEMS.
LOVE IT.
BenQ DeskSaver Companion is awful August 24, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

Though the Apple-specific key functions are labeled in blue on the key to the left of the Alt key (the Apple logo and the Command key symbol), the doofus manufacturer thought the Mac uses an alt key too,so they colored the lower-case "alt" marking blue too, instead of having a blue "Option" marking. * The left to right order of the modifier keys is not Apple-standard--instead of Function, Control, Option, Command, the BenQ has it as Control, Function, Command, Alt (Option). This is disorienting, especially if you have to use a standard Apple layout keyboard every now and then too.
