The AudioSource AST-SUB10 is the perfect anchor for a multichannel speaker system built around the AudioSource AST-series speakers (AST 220S/220C), and the versatile subwoofer can mesh seamlessly with most other speakers, too. A powerful, 150-watt amplifier pumps deep, dynamic sound from the speaker's 10-inch down-firing aluminum-cone woofer. Standing under 10 inches tall, the sub's low-profile design grants more placement options than many other speakers. It's stylish, too, finished in a high-gloss charcoal-grey/green titanium lacquer. The sub accepts line-level (RCA) or speaker-level inputs, depending on your needs. A continuously variable crossover lets you pick a crossover point between 50 and 180 Hz to match the upper range of the speaker's frequency response to the low-frequency output of your other speakers. If you're using a surround receiver with a dedicated subwoofer output, you can bypass the AST-SUB10's crossover altogether for the most accurate reproduction of your receiver's LFE (low-frequency effects) signal. The subwoofer is constructed of 0.75-inch high-density press board. A side port lets the woofer move more air for greater bass output, and the AST-SUB10's internal bracing minimizes unwanted resonances, which can unfavorably color the sound. Other features include output volume control and phase switch (0/180 degrees for help in integrating the sub with your other speakers, depending on its position), auto-sensing power on, an LED power indicator, custom isolation spikes (use is optional), and a multi-voltage power input.  Great Subwoofer October 12, 2007
This was a great price on a really nice subwoofer for my 5.1 system. My wife didn't want a big, ugly, subwoofer in the theater room, but I wanted something with some kick. This system is the perfect fit. My wife has no issues with the low profile design and my father-in-law's first words were, "It even shakes your seat like the movie theater!" Enough said!
Pleasantly Surprised October 3, 2007
I received the unit based on reviews and was not disappointed. It is a very sound quality build. Compact but solid and the finish is very well done. I am just as critical of the look as I am the sound and I am not disappointed in either. I will say that I am not an expert when it comes to mid-high end sound but I know what I like and I have heard poor units before. I have 12" Polk subwoofer in the other room and I think they both sound comaprable.
This is an excellent value in my opinion.

The size is bigger than I thought. It appears beautiful and match color to my plasma tv bezel, which is piano black. I wish it came with digital audio input though.
In general, sound is pretty good at this price and it offers us many options to connect to. On and off is automatic and it has built in crossover to cut frequency at different level if you have full signal output.

I bought this to replace my KLH (which died)....way better! Sound is awesome and rear controls very accessable and easy to use.

I was very unsure at first about buying this sub but i needed something in my bedroom i could hide easily under a dresser...so i took a chance.
I have fairly high end equipment in my other room and i was unsure about the quality of this sub.To my suprise the sub came in a day later after ordering and the build quality was excellent. The finish on the sub is a dark grey metallic which is really nice, and as far as sound quality,it does its job well. Iam using the sub with 3 monitor audio satellite speakers and people cant believe the sound in the room. Get yourself a sub cable and within 5-10 min you will have this hooked up and ready to go...all you need to do is adjust the volume to you liking..all in all excellent product for the money..
