I decided to believe the five-star reviewers. Maybe they got a different product. I ordered mine from one of the cheapest Amazon merchants. The paste I got with this (Allsop #25717) is so unabrasive that it apparently did nothing to my scratched disc. I think the above photo lists the contents correctly except that I got "2 repair cloth" (sic) instead of one with the .30 oz repair solution and one jewel case. That's all. Amazon's detailed description of what's included must be for a different product. Allsop says their other Scratch Repair System #58200 "provides up to 100 repairs." I'd be happy for one repair, but this doesn't do it. I've read that some swear by Brasso metal polish. I'll try it next.

Every CD that I used it on, it didn't seem to help. They still wouldn't read on my cd player or computer. The little packets of cleaner were a pain. I got the stuff all over the place. They only give you two little
cleaning towelettes. Very disappointing. Not worth even the small price that I paid for it.

I had to write, because just 5 minutes ago this saved my CD! (A somewhat hard-to-find one)
First the brief story: I was removing the CD from one of those 2-CD contraptions that don't quite work. Somehow, in the same motion as dislodging the CD, the case slipped from my hand, so the corner of the case punctured the disc pretty hard, somewhere at song #7. This was a deep-looking scrape, about an inch long too, and the disc could not play for at least a 20-second period.
I researched other scratch-repair kits and couldn't discern any differences-- how one might be better than another. So I ordered this one, opened the package, and followed the simple directions: smear on the repair goo, rub firmly with the cloth. For my case (deep-looking scratch), I actually followed the directions about 5 or 6 times.
After these repetitions, I did think that it appeared a little less severe (I had to tilt the disc to see the scratch clearly). So the scratch did not disappear (you can't expect such a deep scratch to be eradicated, with any kit), but the disc plays without skipping. I am very happy, because I did not think this one could be saved!

I had to add this review as the other reviews were written quite awhile ago.
I decided to get it despite the two-star review. For about only $3 if it didn't work, I didn't waste a lot of money.
I got it as my son loaned someone three music CD's and the person didn't take care of them. They were returned and all of them were skipping so bad, they were basically ruined.
My daughter had also loaned several games to the same person and the same thing happened. The person didn't take care of them either and the games weren't playing.
We got the kit in the mail and my 14 yr. old son and my 12 yr. old daughter read the instructions and proceeded to try and fix the CD's and games.
All of them were fixed, 100%. It was a simple, easy-to-use product. Does what it says it does. It fixed even DEEP scratches. All three of the music CD's play fine as do both the games. Add it up to see how much money we saved.
The description of what is in the kit, IS in the kit.
Perhaps the kit was different several years ago. All I can say is that now it is what it says it is and it worked for us. We still have over 90 applications left too.
I highly recommend this product. If a 14 yr. old and 12 yr. old can use it, find it easy to use and it worked for them, I think it will work for you too!

This did not work what so ever. Don't, please don't buy it and waste your money on it.
