Amazing for the price! September 20, 2008 Wacom is well known for superior tablets and graphic design products. This little tablet is no exception! You might expect the quality to be so-so because this is one of their least expensive models, but that is far from the case. Even experienced artists unable to afford the pricier models will find that the Bamboo FUN is extremely accurate. The stylus doesn't need a battery, and the tablet works the minute you plug it into a USB port. The tablet driver, once installed, coordinates the tablet to an amazing level of precision. If you're used to doing digital art with a mouse, you'll never go back once you've used this tablet. It's easier by far and makes the whole process much more enjoyable.
Sizing note: If you are an artist, you should probably have an awareness of your sketching style. If you are a small sketcher, this size will be perfect for you. However, if you usually draw with larger sweeping motions or just make large sketches in general, you will be more comfortable with a larger sized tablet.
Great tool! August 11, 2008 I was interested in this product mainly for the accompanying software bundle, particularly Adobe Photoshop Elements. Even though these aren't the latest and greatest software versions, they are a great value price in this bundle. It really is a great deal. This is my first computer pen and tablet purchase, so it is taking some adjustment to get used to using them. Already I see how much easier computer drawing has become with these tools, compared to a mouse. The Nik software works with Photoshop to give additional special effects. The pen tablet is user friendly, with instructions on how to use it. The installation requires a DVD drive, so the installation is easy and interactive. I like this product and am satisfied with the purchase.
Great mouse & pen July 18, 2008 This works great, even with the mouse. Occasionally you'll run the mouse out of the sensing area, but you soon get used to it (or buy the bigger tablet). The felt under the mouse does start to wear after some time, and the mouse can sometimes feel slightly 'stuck' (just overcoming the little friction of the felt). Nice to never have to change batteries or bother with a wired mouse.
Has problems working with InkScape (more an InkScape bug than a Wacom bug I suspect). If unplugged/plugged regularly from USB, it sometimes forgets to enter "mouse mode" (relative movement). Unplugging & replugging once more fixes it.
Nice tablet delivery on time!! June 20, 2008 I bought this tablet for the most important person for me. He really likes it, they delivered it just right in time and the thing I like is that they delivered worldwide. [It's hard to find one who does.]
The tablet came in a really nice condition with a mouse and a pen. With an installation CD and a tutorial, he is now learning how to have fun with his first tablet in his life.
Small Drawing Tablet Does the Job Well June 18, 2008 This package is a great value for the money. The painting software is superb and the tablet works extremely well for my artist wife and the fun part of me. Great value for the money. Nice to have the mouse, but not really necessary unless you happen to need a better mouse.
