Exceeded my expectations August 22, 2006
I knew I was buying an Acer LCD. Its been nearly 6 months and I have not had any trouble with it. In fact, the screen is bright, clear and no dead pixels, etc. I have now moved this LCD out from the computer desk to be a multimedia center for my kids. In conunction with a KWorld TVBOX device and Logitech 2.1 speakers, I have the cable TV, computer and a game machine hooked up and it performs very nicely. No difference to the higher priced LCD units.

Acer AL1912s 19" LCD Monitor is very good for the price, but one drawback is that if you don't place monitor on a steady surface the monitor tends to wobble which can be annoying but we remedied that with just placing something to the side of monitor and tower to brace it and it is stable. Monitor seems a little fuzzy at certain angles though which I believe is due to the antiglare and higher resolution than some monitors. We did own a couple of Acer monitors earlier and have been extremely happy with the service from them both; both have outlived there normal life expectancy even though they were both CRT monitors and this new Acer is LCD, if you are in the market for a good monitor for a small price then this is the one to have.

I bought this in 12/05. within a 2 month timeframe a pixel had gone bad. after literally hours of time on the phone with hourly employees and supervisors i was forced to ship back at my cost. brand new and I am paying for this. Oh well I sucked it up and shipped it back for the $15. Upon return of the item it had a washed out appearance in the cornmer of the screen that had the bad pixel. The bad pixel still existed, even though they informed me they fixed it. After being on hold for 40 minutes, Jason informed me they have a 4 pixel policy in the warranty. I searched my copy up and down and it says nothing about this "4 pixel policy". He outright refused to accept it back for repair!!! It has been the most absurd runaround i have gotten from any big company, and i have gotten many run arounds. These people absolutely will not stand behind their product.

I was a bit skeptical about buying an LCD monitor over the web, given the horror stories I read about dead/stuck pixels, and not having the convenience of just returning it to my local Best Buy just down the block. Well, all my worry was for naught. This monitor worked just as advertised and I am happy with my purchase. I will never go back to a CRT again.
