Product Description The 3Com Wireless 8760 Dual Radio 11a/b/g PoE Access Point is a cost effective dual band, Power over Ethernet (PoE) wireless solution for enterprises of all sizes. This access point is a fully featured dual radio access point that functions simultaneously with an 802.11b/g and an 802.11a radio. Providing ultra-fast speeds of up to 108Mbps in turbo mode this access point supports up to 64 wireless users per radio, a total of up to 128 wireless users in all leaving plenty of room for growth.PoE support overcomes installation problems by eliminating the need for an AC power plug at each AP. The 3Com Switch 5500-EI PWR, 3Com Baseline Switch 2226- PWR Plus or other IEEE 802.3af-compliant PoE products can supply both power and data to the access points through Category 5 or 6 Ethernet cabling, giving you flexible installation options in hard to wire or reach locations. For convenience a PoE adapter is supplied with the unit.Tough WPA/ WPA2 with TKIP and AES encryption provide the latest standards-based security. For additional protection, the AP supports EEE 802.1X and MAC address access control, authentication, and authorization through backend RADIUS servers. IEEE 802.1Q-compliant VLAN support and VPN passthrough combined with the multiple SSID and security profiles let you design flexible security for different user groups, control access to network resources, and segment user traffic. Versatile Wireless Distribution System (WDS) solves complex wireless connectivity problems, supporting point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and repeater modes.

| Customer Reviews:
Fantastic device! March 24, 2008 We are using this to provide wireless access to WinXP, Mac OS X, and Linux users and also to provide guest internet access via second SSID VLANed to bypass our network on the same unit. We've tested several brands to upgrade our enterprise wireless and this along with 3Com's centralized management switches is great!
I can't believe they charge 300 dollars for this April 13, 2007 Do not buy this product. It is an absolute piece of garbage. I have spent hours trying to configure this thing to work with XP Pro machines with wireless cards and could absolutely not get this to work with even the most basic of configurations. I teach networking and PC repair so I know what I am doing. Avoid this product.
