Product Description AT&T 954 4-line intercom speakerphone accesses four separate telephone numbers coming into the premises. It features one button system-wide paging, programmable individual station intercom codes, and auto line select. AT&T 954 expands to 12-station, eight-line system, and is compatible with 3-line intercom speakerphone 843. Intercom operation features both a single-phone page and a system-wide page. This telephone has 18 one-touch memory locations, and 18 two-touch memory locations, each location can store up to 16 digits. LCD displays time, date, number dialed and duration of call. When you answer a call, the phone automatically selects the ringing line. When you make a call, the phone selects the first available line; if you have a private line, the phone automatically selects it. Whenever a line is in use, the light flashes slowly on the phone using that line. On the other phones on the same line, the light stays on steadily to indicate line is use.The last number dialed on this phone is stored in redial memory until you dial another number. The phone redials the number you just called, and will continue up to 10 times or until the other line rings or you cancel auto redial. When you have a call on hold, the light of the line on hold flashes, and a double beep sounds every 30 seconds to remind you. Mute feature lets you mute the telephone so that you can hear the other party, but the other party can't hear you. Conference Calls feature lets you set up a three-party call by using two lines at the same time. You can also join an intercom call with a call on an outside line. You can transfer a call you answer to any other 954 phone. Once you transfer a call, it can be picked up at any other 954 phone, not just at the intercom number you called.
Amazon.com Review An excellent choice for a small-office environment, AT&T's 954 four-line intercom speakerphone offers a wealth of features to handle a variety of needs for both individual and group use. This corded unit handles up to four separate lines and includes a "convenience port," into which you can connect a fax machine or modem. Whenever a line is in use, the line-in-use indicator lights up on the other phones. An automatic call privacy feature allows only one 954 phone at a time to use a line. Users can cancel call privacy to allow others to join in on the call, obviating the need to employ the conference feature for participants within the same office. Call privacy is restored when you end the call. The 954 provides all the options you'd expect to find in an office phone. The intercom allows you to call another 954 phone in your office without using an outside line. Intercom operations feature both single-phone and system-wide paging. The All Page/Dial button allows you to announce a message over all four lines and to any phone within the network. The hands-free speakerphone mode is excellent. Callers on the other end of our conversation experienced minimal echo and distortion, which are problems commonly associated with speakerphone calls. The 954 also includes a 36-number dialing memory, and an LCD display shows the date, time, number dialed, and duration of call. A nifty feature lets you program pauses into numbers entered into memory. This is especially handy for business lines that require you to dial 9 to obtain an outside line. We found all the programming and setup options easy to implement, though you'll want to consult the manual for all the intercom operations. If you're looking for a phone to handle multiple lines and basic conferencing tasks, AT&T's 954 four-line intercom speakerphone will provide everything you need. --John Frederick Moore Pros: - Wealth of features for the small office
- High-quality distortion-free speakerphone

I LOVE THIS PHONE!!! It has "old" handset styling, phonebook,a screen and multible lines. Reminds me of the Toshiba DKT-2020 Strata series telephone.
Want your business to sound like it cares about quality? March 13, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Then don't buy this phone! We bought five, and every last one is a piece of junk. Callers began telling us we sounded like we were talking through a pillow or from the bottom of a garbage can. We have surely lost customers as a result.
Intercom problem August 6, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bought 4 phones 2 years ago but now one phone's intercom rings automatically and when that phone is unplugged, other phone intercoms dont work. Also other phones can now "listen in" on conversations. Not a quality phone for a business.
