Digital Performance Unlike competitive designs, which require a dedicated display/processor unit, all Garmin radar processing takes place in the radome via a digital signal processor. Data is presented on Garmins Marine Network GPSMAP 3000 series chartplotter/multifunction displays (MFDs). Digital processing also allows for more precise recognition, enhancement, and filtering of radar echoes making the finished display easier to read and interpret.
