They give nice range about a mile and the half in the city. At The Park you can get few miles pretty easly. A lot of features and the privacy codes which i like in these radios. These radios pretty easy to use, nice clear voice and so far i never had any enterferance. For the price you get realy awesome radios. Plus transmitting on FRS channels are FREE !!! That counts too.

Our family goes on cruises every few years and we find this 2-way radio package to be a great resource. We bought several pairs and give them out to everyone in our group. On a huge ship it really helps to track where people are and helps you to get to places/activities on time. We got this model because it has so many channel choices and had a 28 mile optimal distance. We had no trouble on the ship but when we used it at home (drove) it stopped working at about 1 mile away. For our uses, we find it a good product. A little pricey but like I said, good for the times when you really need it.
