Product Description The six phone capability of the MD671 and MD681 cordless phone systems allows you to expand to meet your lifestyle and communications needs. Need a phone in the garage? How about in the basement? The MD61 expansion handsets need only a power plug to connect - no phone line necessary!
Amazon.com Product Description Designed for use with Motorola's MD600 series expandable cordless phones, the MD61 utilizes the less cluttered 5.8 GHz frequency and employs digital technology, offering clearer, more intelligible reception. An auto-scan features automatically detects the best channel available. The MD61 has a number of useful features, including 50 phonebook locations, built-in speakerphone for hands-free operation, caller ID/call waiting capability, and three-way conferencing. The VibraCall setting silently alerts you to incoming calls. A redial button lets you easily call the last dialed number, while the intercom feature lets you communicate with other handsets on the same system. The hold button lets you pick up incoming calls utilizing call waiting, and a visual call waiting feature indicates a second incoming call. The NiCd battery has an 8-hour battery life (5 days on standby), while the low-battery indicator lets you know when to return the handset to its base. A page button on the base makes finding a lost handset quick and painless, and the backlit keypad and handset LCD screen make operation easy, even in the dark. The MD61 also comes backed with a one-year warranty on both parts and labor. What's in the Box Handset, remote charger stand, AC adapter, Ni-Cd battery pack, instructions

This is probably the best telephone ever made May 25, 2007 Something can be said about any piece of technology that can stand the test of time. I've owned this Motorola phone for years now and I have never once had an issue with it. The battery life has remained constant, the signal strength is great, and the quality of the phone is perfect. The speakerphone component of it works perfectly as well.
This phone gets dropped, left off the charger for days, and gets at least two hours of use a day (if not more). After all of this, all I can say is that is has a little wear above the display where my wife's earrings have probably rubbed against it too much.
Some drawbacks April 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
1. Its charger has no locator button. 2. You have to register it will base (Good part), but if don't want to use this you have to unregister it (bad part) otherwise it will show up in intercom menu. 3. Shows new calls even if the another handset picked up the call (bad). 4. Each phone have its own phone book and call logs ( good and bad) 5. Buttons loses the polish with normal wear and tear fairly easy.
By the ay mine stop worliong in 14 months, too bad customer service. I don't recommend it.
Motorola phones are cool February 16, 2007 The MD600 line of Motorola cordless phones have been discontinued but you can still find the base station and extra handsets for about $60 - $80 each. (You connect only the base station to the phone line) These have their idiosyncrasies like anything else . . . but they look cool and work great. I've had my base station and 3 handsets for over a year and I just bought 3 more handsets (the max is 6) . . . it all works flawlessly, good reception, good sound quality, batteries last long before recharging, each handset has its own phonebook and speakerphone, you can page any handset from any other like an intercom . . . I like it.
Very sturdy phone April 11, 2006 The phone is very sturdy, very well made, very sleek looking but not as practical as I would like it to be. Everything is pretty much down packed strong except the microphone. For some reason I feel like it doesn't pick up sound as well as it should. A bit heavy but easy to get used to.
Motorola MD61 Accessory Handset March 17, 2006 I purchased this handset to replace a 900MHz cordless phone on a wired extension that had quit working. Its just as good as the original handset that came with the MD681 phone, which is great. I'll never miss the old 900Mhz cordless phone, or any wired phones for that matter. The sound and build quality of these Motorola units is superb.
