ARE REPLACEMENTS ANY BETTER? August 20, 2008 Three stars only for the huge inconvenience I'm about to incur. I would very much like to see an update or comment from someone who's returned this keyboard, DUE TO THE BATTERY NOT HOLDING ITS CHARGE, and hear whether or not the replacement has had the same problem.
Bought mine 6 mos ago; problem with recharging began a month ago. I get 23 days on a full charge, but it drops 3 days from one day to the next, so I'm sure the battery is on its deathbed. I tried everything Logitech support suggested: cleaning the metal contacts on the keyboard, making sure the keyboard is properly/firmly seated on the charger, and using a different electrical outlet. Nothing helped.
The recharging problem aside, I love typing on this keyboard. Yes, it's far from perfect and I hate the price I had to pay for it. But having tried more keyboards for my desktop than I care to admit, and hating all of them for their clickety-click inability to keep up with fast typing, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I first tried this one. This keyboard may not be for the person still having to put in any sort of 8-hr day with different software programs. But for plain, simple typing, this keyboard is it. Believe me, there is none better.
I disagree with the one reviewer who felt the Bluetooth technology was useless at a desktop. The older wireless keyboards still required a cut-out in the back of my desk, to get the "remote" unit within range. Having no wire at all - to get tangled with others or also collect dust - is fantastic. I don't use the circular touch-disk very often. I opted instead to buy Logitech's VX Nano mouse, the one made especially for laptops. I love the small size; it's super fast. And it fits nicely next to the diNovo with room left over on the keyboard shelf.
Last, is there anyone out there - who will admit to having purchased a SECOND diNOVO, so as not to be without it while the first is sent off for repair or replacement? I'm thinking about it.
easy and lighte August 10, 2008 simply i love this product what am looking for ,amazing and comfort playing with my 37" sharp lcd .
best keyboard for HTPC August 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is by far the best Home Theater PC (HTPC) keyboard on the market. I just sold my BTC keyboard that was recommended by a snap stream BTV review. In truth BTC makes good HTPC keyboards, but for my configuration (usb extender over cat 5 with a ASUS P5W-DH) this keyboard solved some of my major BTC issues associated with drivers being lost on resume from sleep/standby. Logitech also has much better customer support BTC. Overall, if you're builing a HTPC spend the money and get this keyboard (it will save you a lot of configuration headaches).
A piece of art August 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's very thin and stylish. Good built quality. When the switch is turned on and all the orange/amber control buttons light up... wow... one word: COOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
(No, the keyboard itself is not backlighted)
The keyboard feels good (I'm 4-year user of a Thinkpad), and the battery life is quite long - the longest usage is about 4 hours and there are still plenty of juice left. I use it as the keyboard for HTPC keyboard. The design of itself also compliments a lot to the entertainment center. It's the perfect keyboard for HTPC - with mouse and keyboard integrated together - what a smart design! There are also customizable buttons.
It's plug and play - no need to install the software at all (on a XP Pro SP2), unless you need to customize the buttons. One thing amazed me is that it even works in DOS mode. Actually to be precise it's in BIOS config screen. I don't know how that bluetooth USB adapter (comes with the keyboard) gets the BOIS to recognize the keyboard and mouse!!
I got it in good price and there was $[...] rebate. But it worth spending $[...]! I really love it.
There was one time I had problem with it - keyboard press seems not sent until I move the mouse. I just power it off and back on and instantly it's working. It doesn't bother me.
Nice touch July 26, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am very happy with my new diNovo Edge Keyboard. Since I am a former classical pianist, I am very sensitive to the keyboard action, and this is what I like most about this product. It takes very little movement to depress the keys, and the action is even and smooth. However, I have owned this keyboard for about a month, and am still getting used to the slight change in spacing from my prior IBM keyboard (especially the onces that require reaching with my pinky), so I am making a lot of mistakes.
