GREAT LAPTOP January 22, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love my laptop, it has not given me any problems in over a year. I go to college and find myself constantly throwing it into my backpack and carrying it around. It has withstood countless drops, kicks and has served me as a pillow many a night. I would highly reccomend this computer to anyone as it is sturdy, dependable, fast and has an outstanding battery life.
Fair Notebook Bad Customer Support December 29, 2004 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
It is an OK computer. It feel flimsy compared to my old HP. When my AC adapter went bad customer support would not just send me a new one in exchange for the broken one. I had to send in the notebook and the AC adapter. Major inconvenience having to wait plus I didn't like the idea of sending a flimsy computer through the mail. I will not buy from toshsiba again because of their customer service. If you are considering a toshsiba then you may want to buy their premium warranty package if want to be treated well.
decent laptop but a bit below my expectations December 22, 2004 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
A nice laptop, but the sound is below fair. Also it is advertised as having 512MB memory but at least my config. (from amaz) came with 480MB. Also the HD is 74G instead of the advertised 80G.
A very good battery and reasonable display. The performance seems good.
All that I hoped... December 19, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this computer for my daughter for Christmas and had to try it first. I bought Toshiba after shopping around and checking Consumer Reports. I have had a Compaq and Sony previously This computer has all most will need, is the right size and price. It is being discounted as it seems to be discontinued, but it is current enough for most. I love this machine.
Phoenomenal Laptop November 30, 2004 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've had this laptop for a couple of weeks now. Having owned several other laptops before, I can fairly say that this is one of the best I have had the pleasure of using.
It's not the lightest laptop on the market, but certainly light enough for me to carry to class and the library every day. The battery life is much better than I expected and the sound is about as good as I've seen.
My two favorite features, however, are the large keyboard and wide screen. As someone with fairly large hands, it's nice to have a regular sized keyboard that I can type on instead of mashing several keys at a time as I am apt to do on many of the smaller laptops. What I really love, though, is the wide screen. There's nothing better than the ability to have a text document comfortably open next to a web browser or another document. It's the closest thing to having multiple monitors without having to lug an extra LCD around!
I only really have one minor gripe about the laptop and that is that some of the keys are in odd locations. eg: the windows key has been moved to the top right of the keyboard and tilde is next to the spacebar. Takes a bit of getting used to, but not really all that big of a deal.
Overall, I would highly recommend this laptop to those who need something portable, but not diminutive. It certainly isn't the cheapest one on the market, but, in this case, you certainly get what you pay for.
