 It works, but... December 31, 2007
It's not a dedicated adapter; it's an adapted adapter, with an extra element between the cord and the computer. Things seems to disconnect easily, so you have to be careful to check that the chain is intact. The length of cord between the computer and the little box in the middle (whatever it's called) is shorter than I'm used to, and I had to "adapt" to that. Don't know for sure if this is signicant, since now I actually touch the little box, whereas before I didn't, but it seems to get very, very hot when in use.

I always had problems with the original adapter that came with my Dell because of its shape. It curved at the end plugged into the computer, which meant I was constantly reajusting it because it would get twisted or popped out. This replacement adapter doesn't have that problem, so I anticipate it lasting longer than the original.
