Lots of storage if you've got none April 3, 2008
I have a Phil & Ted's but currently use it only in single mode. Because I had some concerns about the bags, I opted for 2 smaller Skip Hop saddle bags (see my review) when I don't want to fill my lower basket up with my diaper bag. I found the P & T's bag material too flimsy, the drawstring/tog a hassle and the deep, open interior too large to make it easy to find items. I found flipping back the cover a little annoying perhaps because the material's flimsy and/or the shape of the cover (there's a zippered pocket in it). Also, attaching the velcro to the frame while buggy's open is difficult!!! Yet, one has to remove the bags in order to collapse the buggy! And it certainly adds to the width of the buggy as the bags expand quite a bit. Also, my single rain cover wouldn't cover the bags so I wasn't sure how practical that was in Vancouver.
Now, when I have 2 kids, I will probably see these bags in a whole different light as there is no storage otherwise (thus I gave it 3 stars rather than 2). The Skip Hop bags ($25/each) will be good only as diaper bag/snack/toys and can be hung on the handlebar and back of the 2nd seat. But how much shopping do I want to do with 2 kids in tow anyway? In baby/toddler mode, I can still use the mommy clip somewhat.
