Baby likes the sling June 11, 2008 Got this sling as a gift and is the only one I've ever used so have no other comparison...I like the sling because it seems easy to use and I don't need help getting it on. I think the key to being able to use this is to adjust the strap to the proper length. If you don't then your shoulders/back gets tired really easy. Once I got the proper length, I could use the sling for several hours before I got tired. My baby has loved this sling from day one.
Cons: strap can be difficult to adjust, when putting sling on, baby can seem like he's not supported as well. To compensate, I just support the baby with one hand and then put the sling over my shoulder with the other hand. Wish that the part of the sling where the baby's head is was more padded. (I'm always paranoid I'll not pay attention and accidentally bump something...so I usually put my hand where his head is, just in case.)
Don't waste your money! May 6, 2008 I purchased this for my newborn two years ago, and he hated it. I think it must be the sling because he loves ring slings, pouch slings, mei tais, wraps, and more structured carriers, in the cradle positions, upright positions, everything-- in fact I am still wearing him and he is a toddler!
Infantino is fine for shopping cart covers and rattles but after reading safety concerns regarding the Infantino slingrider (not just the recalled version, but the inappropriate position it puts the baby in), I am sorry that I gave it away, I wish I had just thrown it out :(
Not recommended March 10, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this carrier at a baby store and tried it out with my then 2 month old. The inside of the carrier is huge!!! He just rolled around in it and even at the shortest length of the strap (I'm 5'4) the baby was still hanging down by my waist. As I put it on with the baby in it and stood up, the whole thing just collapsed above him, completely preventing any air flow in and out of the carrier. The worst feature I thought was the fact that the whole thing is made from very stretchy material so as you walk, the whole carrier stretches up and down, bouncing wildly with every step. It didn't give me the feeling that he was securely attached to me. I returned it the same day.
What a beautiful sling... February 28, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is such a beautiful baby sling...well made and unique in its black color. The fabric is gorgeous; even the packaging is beautifully done. My granddaughter loves using it with her new baby girl. Everyone who has seen it comments on the style and fabric. It's elegant!
My Baby Hated this Sling February 22, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 7 week old cried as soon as I put her in this sling. She folded up into a curve, which caused her to reflux and probably couldn't get a good deep breath in that position. The elastic closed up over her face and I couldn't see her unless I pull the elastic open for a peek. I admit, the sling wass comfortable for me to wear and easy on the back, but if Baby isn't happy, then nobody's happy. Don't bother buying this sling.
