Product Description The WeeRide Kangaroo child seat offers an innovative riding position so the child is visible at all times and can be heard and attended to more easily. The child is provided with a more interesting view, and the weight distribution actually works to enhance the bicycle's stability. All in all, it offers enhanced safety and a more comfortable, enjoyable ride for the child.
Amazon.com Product Description The WeeRide Kangaroo center-mounted bike seat offers an award-winning design that makes biking with your child much safer and much more fun. It's installed onto virtually any bicycle via a patent pending, independent steel support bar that attaches between the front handle bar tube and the seat post. It provides a much more enjoyable and interactive experience for the child and rider. Your child's needs can be heard, seen and attended to more easily, and he or she has a more interesting view--no more staring at someone's back. Other advantages include no dangling arms or legs to reach wheels and the rear of the bike is free to carry your gear. The seat is made from an injection-molded plastic form, and it features a comfortable padded foam seat, height adjustable foot cups, and a fully adjustable three-point security harness. The Padded pedestal armrest sitting atop the handlebars gives children somewhere comfortable to put their hands, and can serve as a headrest for the napping toddler. The steel support bar is an independent support system that does not interfere with brake cables or other attached bicycle gear. It includes different sizes of plastic spacers for the front yoke attachment and rear seat post to protect the posts and ensure it fits on almost any recreational bicycle available. It's easily removable for when you want to ride on your own. It can be used with mountain/city bikes with upright handlebars (with drop-handled racing handlebars, the rider leans forward too much for the child to sit comfortably). Children should be at least 1 year old, and it has a maximum weight capacity of 40 pounds. This bike seat is designed for casual riding on smooth, flat, paved and dry surfaces free of sand, gravel or dirt.

Love It May 8, 2008 My son and I love to go riding. I love the fact that I know what he is doing at all times. He is now pointing to things while we ride, so I can answer his questioning pointing. It was easy to install.
I love it! May 5, 2008 I'm no cyclist and was nervous about riding with my child. However, this seat is wonderful! While the extra weight is noticeable (had to walk the bike up some hills) and my legs do stick out a little to accomodate the seat, it's perfect for the short rides my family does. And my son loves being in front - he laughs more the faster we go much to my dismay as I'm so cautious he must wonder what's wrong! The only reason I gave it a four and a not a five-star rating was because of the installation (the straps aren't the best either but they do their job). My husband installed it and had a bit of hair pulling with the bar being put together wrong from the manufacturer and figuring out exactly where to attach the seat (pictures/instructions not so good or mabye he only glanced at them).
But I'd definitely recommend this seat to anyone wanting to ride with his/her child. Best $50 I've spent in awhile!
Great Seat, Horrible Harness April 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've had this seat for about 1.5 months now. Installation was very easy. At first I wasn't sure if my 18 month old son was really enjoying himself because he was so quiet, but now he points at the bike when he sees it, asking to go for a ride.
We are recreational riders and our rides are usually between 30-60 minutes. We have a few small hills along our route that are challenging with the extra weight. The seat has little padding for my little one and the extra weight and peddling with my legs slightly further apart doesn't lend itself to strenuous or long distance rides. However, for family rides on the paved bikes trails and sidewalks around our community, the WeeRide is great.
The only con I have is the lousy harness system. My son is tall but very slender and the lap straps are already tight fully extended. I am worried that he will outgrow the straps before the rest of the carrier.
The shoulder straps, on the other hand, offer no real restraint and frustrate the heck out of both my son and me, as they are always sliding off his shoulders. The two shoulder straps connect behind the shoulders with another piece of nylon strap. In theory, you are supposed to slide this piece up toward the child's neck to keep the straps from falling. Well, in reality, there is nothing to keep that connecting piece from falling, so it slides down almost immediately along with the shoulder straps. I constantly have to stop the bike to pull the straps back up.
Apart from being annoying, IMHO it is also dangerous. In the event of an accident, the shoulder straps are worthless. If the bike goes over, the child's upper body will be thrown in the direction(s) of the fall, twisting from the well-belted waist.
I ended up using the clip from a water bottle to hold the two straps together in the front. I would have gladly paid another $2 bucks or whatever it would have cost Kent International to use a five point harness system like every other stroller and car seat on the planet.
The platform is also a little strange. My son doesn't really hold onto it and it's not padded enough to cradle his head when he falls asleep. With his helmet on, his head doesn't really stay in one position. It would be nice, too, if the platform had a built in drink holder.
Other than those suggestions for improvement, we really enjoy our outings and I like being able to talk to and check on my son during our rides. We also receive a lot of smiles and comments when we cruise through the park in our neighborhood!
We love the WeeRide Kangaroo Child bike seat April 14, 2008 My favorite thing about this product is that you can chat with your toddler while you ride. Also, it's very cozy, almost like you're holding them as you ride so you both feel safer, much more-so than either the wagons or rear bike child-seats I've tried.
Very fun but won't be using long April 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really debated between this and the I-Bert, but the latter just looks way too goofy, so I took a chance on the Wee Ride.
Pros: -Couldn't believe how easy it is to install. I was worried there was not enough room to mount it on the front bar but it worked fine (just barely). -I am 5'6" and have a hybrid bike. While I have to position my knees just slightly outward it does not affect my pedaling. But that's just me. -When my daughter is riding I feel very balanced and she feels very secure. She is 3 years old, 30 pounds and 37" tall (more about that in CONS).
Cons: -These products need to talk more about HEIGHT limits rather than weight. My daughter is lightweight but tall. If your child is taller than 36-37" don't bother. The footrests are all the way down, but her knees still come up a bit. That makes it hard to fasten the buckle around her thighs. It is very snug. If they would have given me maybe another inch of strap, that would help. Why so generous with the shoulder straps yet so stingy with the lower straps? -Oh, and the shoulder straps slip off. The "harness" system is a joke. Luckily it's secure around her thighs, but I don't see what purpose these shoulder straps serve. -Because of the limits of the straps, we will probably only get one summer's worth of use.
My daughter did not feel secure when I first put her in the seat. But once we got strapped in and took off, all I heard was "weeeeee!" That sound is totally worth it.
