Product Description Whether flying on an airplane or traveling by train or bus, it is safest and most comfortable for your child to be in a car seat. But traveling with a young child, their seat, and your carry-on can be tricky. Not anymore. The Traveling Toddler strap allows you to attach your LATCH and top tether equipped toddler's car seat to a rolling carry-on suitcase. Simply attach the LATCH and top tether straps from the car seat to the Traveling Toddler and adjust the straps so that the car seat is held securely on the suitcase. Once adjusted, the car seat can be detached and reattached to the suitcase in seconds. Lift the handle of your carry-on bag and you have a fun new stroller. Now there's an easy and inexpensive way to take your toddler's car seat and other gear on your trip. You do not have to buy a special seat or suitcase. As long as your suitcase handle locks in place, you can push it like a stroller. Your hands are free for check in and its simple to unhook for security. Keep your child safe and comfortable in their own seat instead of squirming around in a seat made for an adult, or worse, squirming around on your lap. The Traveling Toddler has been tested with most major car seat brands including Graco, Eddie Bauer, Cosco, Evenflo, and Britax, and a variety of carry-on suitcases and has worked with every combination. It is important that the telescoping handle of your suitcase locks in place. If not, it might not stay extended when you try to push your child in front of you, though you would still be able to pull them. If flying, make sure that your car seat is FAA approved before traveling. The Traveling Toddler strap is made from heavyweight polypropylene webbing that will withstand 900 lbs of force. When not in use it easily slips in the pocket of your carry-on. As with any other wheeled child carrier, do not use the Traveling Toddler on stairs or escalators. Car seat and suitcase sold separately.Patent pending.

It would have been better if... July 14, 2008 I have to say who ever developed this product is a freaking genius and a rich [...] too. I mean it is just 2 pieces of material and 3 D rings but it cost like [...] bucks. All in all it was pretty easy to use even though out toddler didnt sit in it much. Atleast it make carring the car seat easier. I would definatly recommend this to my family and friends.
A Better Mousetrap July 13, 2008 We just test drove this product with our Britax Marathon's and this strap certainly does its job. Setup is easy. The rings at the end of the 3 way strap simply clip into the carseat's LATCH side clips and the rear top clip. The only straps that need to be adjusted are the side straps to tighten the carseat onto the luggage. Contrary to one of the few negative reviews for this item, you do not need to lay your luggage on the ground to attach the strap and the carseat. It's actually quite easy.
You will feel a bit disappointed when this item arrives. All you get is a box and a 3 way strap with D rings on each end. I'm sure this item cost less than a $1 to manufacture. That said, it does its job and this $15 strap is much cheaper than the $80 Travel Mate which only carries the carseat (rather than both the carseat and the rolling carry-on luggage) and appears to be a pain to setup and detach.
When you roll the luggage with the carseat, you will have to exert downward force on the extended handle. The outboard weight of the carseat and the Tot simply changes the balance of the luggage such that while rolling it down the terminal the luggage would rather stay upright. This is a little awkward but the ability to roll the luggage, carseat, and the Tot together more than makes up for the awkwardness.
Overall, I'm glad I found this alternative to the Travel Mate. Aengus
Single Mom Takes Toddler on Plane; Great, Simple, Device! July 10, 2008 This product took some practice but it worked great after using it a few times. I bought this product a few weeks before our trip. It arrived promptly without damage. I hooked up the car seat to our carry on, 14" x 22" x 9", and strapped my daughter in for a few strolling trips around the house. I didn't want to check any bags because they always get lost. Her stuff went in a backpack/roller suitcase. My stuff went in the carry-on. The car seat went on the carry on. The diaper bag and purse went on my shoulder. It was a lot to carry and there was some sweat but it worked great. The car seat went on the plane. So, no squirmy toddler. She was comforted by having her car seat along and felt safe during a very turbulent flight. She even said "Wheee" during the bumps. I asked to board early after 1st class/disabled and this helped. I also waited 'till everyone left the plane for the extra room needed to strap the car seat to the luggage in the aisle. Security was a nightmare but manageable. The clip got caught on the luggage corner and I had trouble getting it off. But I was a little panicked because she was having such a melt down. Allow yourself plenty of time at the airport to reduce stress - 1.5 - 2 hours. The device is easily stored in your purse along with the car seat clip and Mighty Tight. The car seat is easy to install upon arriving. I got plenty of compliments at the airport along with some questions from flight attendants who didn't understand that I was not checking the car seat. I saw another mom there who had the expensive convertible car seat to stroller. But, I felt a little smug knowing both how much money I had saved and that her device didn't carry her clothes. She obviously checked her luggage. If you are not afraid of a little extra physical work, you can travel for a long weekend with the toddler, car seat, luggage, and diaper bag, without ever paying fees to the airline for your first bag. Definitely worth the money.
So easy and small, what could be better for traveling with a toddler?! July 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So, we were headed for California from Texas with our 17 month old and I had to bring her carseat with us...I had seen the other option where the carseat snapped or slid onto basically wheels and a handle, but it was like 80 bucks(!) and I would still have to roll any luggage we had PLUS our daughter. This product was awesome - attaching the carseat to an already existing rolling carryon was genius! It's a MUST-BUY!
Makes traveling with a baby a joy! July 7, 2008 We recently went on vacation with our 11 mnth old baby. I purchased the Traveling Toddler in preparation for the trip. I did a test run of it with my roll-aboard suitcase ( to adjust for fit ) with and without the baby installed in the carseat. The carseat that we used was a Cosco Senera. I highly recommend a dry run at home before you get to the airport. This was the one item I purchased for the trip that made traveling with the Baby Stress Free!!! It worked wonderfully. We were able to check the stroller when we checked the luggage. And we just wheeled the baby from gate to gate using the Traveling Toddler attached to the Roll-aboard suitcase (The roll-aboard suitcase I use is 21" tall). And the Baby really enjoyed the ride. A very simply design that Really Works. I Highly Recommend IT! I feel that the Traveling Toddler was worth every penny! It is the most reasonably priced travel accessory available that I have found and it works Great Too!!! I will be Recommending this to all of my Friends with babies for Air Travel.
