Great Fun --but exercise care with younder riders! July 7, 2008 Just got the Ground Force over the July 4th weekend for 8 year old daughter who had a blast friving it. But she got over-confident and kept taking the curves faster and faster until...she got panicked and banged into the rear of a minivan. Luckly she wasn't hurt...but she was definitely shaken up. Please exercise care when letting children less than 10 year ride this fast machine. Razor needs to improve the design of the steeing mechanism. The initial free play (and lacks of steering result) may prompt for too much more muscle input that coult lead to abrupt oversteer. The hand brake position forces the wrist to turn in, rendering the brake almost unsqueezable. In summary -- a super fun toy for older kids that can become much safer with better steering and brake redesign.
Good for the price, reasonable durable June 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Normally I dont write reviews but this product has inspired me to do so. The pluses: Easy to assemble, takes about 30 minutes at most if you are really slow Faster than you would assume, the 12 mph speed is definitely plenty even for an ADULT Can run with a 175lb adult no problem on a flat grade Construction is reasonable durable for the price. The frame is very good but the tires/wheels are a little cheap and i could see them wearing out fairly quickly. Low center of gravity, impossible to tip/flip, unless you are doing some kind of stunt. The negatives: Ground clearance is NOT a lot just a FEW inches so object in the road and quick Grade changes could cause a scrape. One of the lower parts is a drive sprocket so this could be an issue in the long term. Steering is a little loose and requires a bit of force and the brake is very hard to pull for a child even 10-12 years old. Unit WILL not drive with any slippery surface, my son drove on the grass in the evening and it immediately started spinning its wheel Unit is SMALL, even my 10 year seems a bit LONG, and the driver will be sitting almost butterfly style with the legs spread. It is sized more for a 6 year old. I agree with most reviewers this unit should NOT be for any child under 8 years old without adult supervision, my son is 6 1/2 and he had to be prompted to turn harder and slow down while i was RUNNING along side. I think any 9-10 year old could handle it though with some initial close guidance. hope this helps. Will fit in the back of any midsize SUV (honda pilot, explorer, etc
Kids electric go cart June 23, 2008 Worked fine for a while. Issues with steering wheel attachment, steering components, and now its quit working completely. I don't know if its the battery, charger, power switch or what.
Was Ok. May 26, 2008 I got my GoKart in 2 Days and it came fine. After about a week or two the brakes broke and wouldn't work at all. We called razor, and for my opionion they had the worst service. I recommend this but if something breaks. Razor won't have that great of service that you would think
Ground Force Go Kart April 29, 2008 I would highly recommend this product. It was very easy to assemble, very durable & my 9 & 10 year old sons love it! (As do all the kids in the neighborhood!) This go kart steers very well, & the battery seems to last a good while before needing to be recharged.
