I've always used windshield scrapers with a metal edge. The brass blade "bends" a little as you apply pressure, and it removes frozen ice and snow from the glass like magic. Plastic scrapers just don't compare! Get one like this with a brass edge and you'll never waste time trying to scrape a windshield after a hard frost with a piece of plastic again. It goes through ice and frost like BUTTER!

I live and drive in the Midwest so ice/frost scraping is something I have to deal with each Winter. I've had just the ice scraper without the brush in my company car for several years after buying it at a truck stop. I assume the truckers use them.
The brass edge is soft enough metal that it won't scratch glass, but it's ever so much better than the all plastic scrapers at getting the ice broken up or the frost scraped off that there's just no comparison. My previous plastic scrapers lasted for a few uses and then got chips in the edge and were almost useless. Ice storm build-up? forget about it with the plastic
I've tried since then to find more of them to put in our family vehicles, but couldn't locate them, even at our local truck stop. After a little web searching I discovered them and the snow brush variation here on Amazon and took advantage of quantity pricing to buy a case of them to pass out too all my family members for their vehicles.

Living in Chicagoland we need a really good brush/scraper combo and this is the best one ever.
What makes it the best are three attributes:
1. The scraper is brass. (The brass will remove the ice easily but it bends enough to not scratch.)
2. The length of the handle is just right for reaching across to the center of the winshield.
3. The long handled snow brush easily reaches the snow on the hood and the top of the car.
After several years, one corner of the plastic that holds the brass scraper broke off. We want another one but can't find it anywhere. What happened? It's the perfect snow brush/scraper and no one has it anymore. There isn't another like it that I have found on the internet anywhere. If I find where you can get one I will post it here. Please add a comment to my review if you know where to get one! Thanks!
Absolute best on frost January 18, 2010

I have used this brush/scraper in the past and would like to find another one. The brass blade will not scratch glass. The blade is the absolute best scraper for morning frost. Typical plastic blade scrapers may remove heavy ice on the windshield, but on frost you may as well use a stick! The brass blade is the only way to go. This is a great product for the money.

Best ice scraper/brush I have ever bought. Usually, my scraper will break in a couple of years but this is the last one I have bought and it's lasting a long time. Very sturdy and scrapes ice better than any other scraper I have had. Everyone should buy this scraper!
