Buy cross bars and a roof rack March 11, 2008
We were in a hurry to get a rack for a trip. We couldn't wait for ordered cross bars to mount a roof rack, so we opted for a wheel mount rack.

To load and close the rack, you practically need a second pair of hands. The other thing we discovered is that even with today's shorter skis, you must remove the skis to get your car (in this case a Honda CV-R) into some underground parking facilities. And even when properly secured, the thing has the still moves around a bit in a rather disconcerting manner.
