5 out of 5 stars Individually calibrated and accurate, I am impressed.   April 18, 2008

Extremely accurate, ergonomic, does not have the external pointer stop to bend the pointer, and it is easy to read. It does not hold pressure after the gauge is removed; the button on the side is for bleeding off pressure only. Purchase the rubber Moroso 89590 Tire Pressure Gauge Cover that is made for it, the protection and improved handling make it well worth the money and it looks much better with the cover on.

When buying a tool it is best to get a good one that will last for years. The research I did on the internet paid off, I am totally satisfied with this gauge. Because it is a new style it can take a few times to get used to using it. I recommend putting your index finger under the nozzle to make sure the gauge goes on straight to avoid unwanted leaking and apply pressure with your thumb, after using it a while this is may not be necessary.

Being a mechanic I check my tire pressures on both vehicles once a week and accuracy and ease of use is very important to me. I keep this gauge inside the house to keep it nice and my old gauges in the vehicles.

According to Moroso, each Moroso 89560 gauge is individually calibrated for accuracy within 2% which means that at 50 psi the gauge should be not lower than 49 or above 51 as it will not be off by more than 1 psi.

The Moroso 89562 Pro Series Tire Pressure Gauge which is accurate within one half percent which means that the Pro gauge would be not lower than 49.75 or above 50.25 at 50 psi as it will not be off by more than one fourth psi.

I had my Moroso 89560 gauge tested on digital calibration equipment and it was as accurate as the Pro is advertised to be through the range of 5 to 60. If you have a tire that loses more than 1 or 2 psi a month you can have a nail or other leak and several times I have found leaks by regular checks when one tire was lower than the other three.

With high gas prices, keeping your tires properly inflated helps to get the best gas mileage, and twice I have been driving along and have seen people with low tires have blowouts which you can help to avoid by catching slow leaks early.

The gauge is a great value and Amazon.com helped me to get the best price on a product I am totally satisfied with. The one gauge I currently have developed a bent pointer from the external stop, the Moroso does not have the stop and I wanted a nice gauge that would last and be easy to use so I am totally delighted and completely satisfied with the Moroso.

5 out of 5 stars Best tire pressure gauge I've ever used!   April 12, 2008

The best thing about this gauge (as others have mentioned) is the perfect seal on the valve stem. There are absolutely no air leaks so I am confident I am getting the correct pressure (assuming the gauge is accurate...but I have no way to verify that). The gauge is large and easy to read. It is a little ungainly to use at first because of the stiff tubing (I won't store this one in my car because of the size) but it becomes easier to use with practice. Some mentioned that this gauge doesn't hold the pressure on the dial like some others. It couldn't do this and have a functional bleed valve (which in my opinion is much preferable). You just fill the tire a few pounds higher than recommended and then bleed the air (using the bleed valve) to your desired pressure. Very simple and elegant. Only one complaint (again as others have mentioned). The rubber gauge cover (which is a must purchase) ought to be included for the price. By the way, at first I thought I was going to have to disassemble the gauge to put the rubber cover on but it can be slipped over the entire tubing to be but on without disassembling anything!

5 out of 5 stars Professional Grade Tyre Gauge   February 19, 2008

i bought this tyre gauge based on the reviews and the tiny picture you see here. the overall physical size is larger than what you can see in the picture and it has very solid build. i was expecting something solid but when i see the real thing, i was still amazed. the rotary air valve is convenient and makes instant air seal. the reading is big, clear and very stable. the air release valve is good too. basically everything you would need to achieve accurate tyre pressure: it's not cheap but you got a truely no-nonsense professional gauge.

as others have mentioned, the rubber protector shall definitely come along with the gauge. in fact, i really hope it comes with a carry bag. the bag doesnt have to be LV-alike or made of italian leather, just anything of the right size and shape with enough cushion for the gauge to sit in so that i can leave it in my car boot. now i have to go to accessory shop to find one.

having said that, it still deserves 5 stars.

5 out of 5 stars Solid and accurate   February 18, 2008

This is a great tire gauge. I prefer dial-type gauges with a bleed valve, and they don't get much better than this one. Prior to the Moroso, I used a dial-type Accu-gage for a while and liked it, but after about a year, it stopped holding tire pressure -- leaking air. Accu-gage has a lifetime warranty, so for $3 return shipping I know I could send it in to get it fixed, but I wanted something better. I came across the Moroso after reading about gauges online.

The Moroso is much more substantial than the Accu-gage. All of the Moroso components are a little bigger, heavier, and more solid-feeling. The Moroso dial is relatively large, making it easy to set pressure accurately. The connection to the valve stem is more sure than any gauge I have ever used. I don't have anything bad to say about the gauge. Overall, I'd give it a 5 out of 5.

4 out of 5 stars Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge   January 14, 2008

It is working well as described by the other reviewers. But I wish the cover, which I also purchased separately, could have been included, and put together, as one item. With a little luck, I managed to delicately slip the cover in without needing to take apart the gauge.
