The unit includes a FREE . -4 to 932 F - non- contact temp readings. 12 to 1 ratio - increased distance to spot ratio. Constant maximum temperature displayed - increased low end temp range. Heavy-duty construction. Packaged in plastic case. Specifications: Display is 4 digit LCD. Field of view is 8 : 1. Emissivity is 0.98. Automatic power-off after 10 seconds. Accuracy is +/- 20C (4degF), or +/- 2% of reading. Resolution is 0.5degC/0.5degF. Repeatability is within +/- 1% of reading or +/- 1degC (2degF). Response time is 0.5 seconds. Battery Life is approximately 15 hrs (Alkaline). The 52224 also includes a 9V battery, instruction manual, and carrying case.

Very useful for me as I was troubleshooting an aging air conditioning system. I was able to easily read the register temperatures when needed. Case helps keep device safe and free extra thermometer is a nice plus. Would be nice if it would keep track of temperatures for later review. Perhaps this is available with higher-end models. No complaints.

Received IR thermometer quickly, thanks. Works pretty good. Haven't compared to check accuracy, seems pretty good. My work requires energy audits of homes, businesses, helps checking TD with a/c units.Makes checking Temperature Differential between supply and return quick and easy. Plan to get one for my son who is a mechanic working on large trucks/equipment.

I bought the mastercool thermometer for my husband since he loves to grill. With the infrared thermometer he is easily able to tell the temperature of his grill surface. As a result, excessive charring is greatly minimized.

The Mastercool MSC52224A works great. The instructions are sparse but adequate. The unit appears to be pretty accurate, but I have not verified this. By the way, the accuracy stated on the instruction sheet is +/- 2C or +/- 4F. It's a great value for the money.
The kids really enjoyed testing the temperature of everything in the house, including the refrigerators, freezers, oven and grill.
