Amazon.com It's hard to imagine two more talented hipsters than Floetry singer Marsha Ambrosius and emcee Natalie Stewart, a.k.a. the Songstress and Floacist. The U.K. duo's Floetic debut has it all--smooth R&B, soulful jazz, hip-hop, spoken word, supple ballads and a warmth that cradles the listener from beginning to end. In short, it's exquisitely, decidedly feminine. The pair occasional raise the roof with sizzling rhymes and beats, but they clearly place a premium on vibe, evident in Floetic's mostly chilled, after-dark feel. Jill Scott and Michael Jackson have already benefited from Floetry's deft songwriting; Jacko covered Floetry's "Butterflies" on his Invincible disc. A demo version of that song is included here, but that's the least of the bounty. "Hello" is pure honey with the women's silky voices braided in harmony while the dreamy, gently gurgling "Sunshine" is like a soundtrack to a daydream. Comparisons abound (Lauryn Hill-meets-Dionne Warwick as scored by a blunted De La Soul maybe?) but perhaps the best description of Floetic yet unearthed is "sass and soul." And, at almost 70 minutes long, it's a steal. --Kim Hughes

Still good January 23, 2008 One of the few recordings that you can just turn on and let it play....song after song a gem. A must have CD for the true audiophile!

My ultimate favourite track is Say Yes. This song first introduced me to Floetry. From then on I have been hooked. This is a good album I wouldn't say it is their best however I still enjoy it. If you want the different soul, r'n'b and lean towards Neo Soul then this is for you.
Hard to find CD!!! May 30, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful

Floetry just keep doing it! They really do create great sounds and the mc ability of floetry is like no other! The feel of this album is amazing! I love all the tracks on this album. Track 3-4-5 awesome tracks! These girl's pull off Stevie Wonders lyrics and song by Michael Jackson "Butterflies" brilliantly! Listen to this track and you can make your judgement then. I'm normally not a fan of songs that are re-done, but Floetry put their own signature on this song and hit it up with something mystical!
