| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com The world was hardly waiting with baited breath for a sequel to John Landis' endearingly sloppy "Blues Brothers." In fact, "Blues Brothers 2000" left nary a vapor trail in theaters on its way to unsuspecting video and cable patrons. Misguided, though lovingly executed, the cross-generation soundtrack makes as much room for Johnny Lang and John Popper as it does for Wilson Pickett, Junior Wells and Paul Butterfield. And how can you not like a record that treats Fred Steiner's classic "Perry Mason Theme" to blues treatment? --Jerry McCulley

Let The Music Do The Talking March 7, 2008 With 18 tracks that clock in at a little over one hour, the affinity that Dan Aykroyd has for the blues delivers an outstanding soundtrack.
With a venerable who's who of legends - B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Junior Wells, Aretha Franklin, Bo Diddley, Steve Winwood - this is a collection of the sounds and voices from those who shaped the music industry in the latter half of the 20th century.
The Paul Butterfield Blues Band kick things off by raising the roof with Born in Chicago, but it's the pair of cuts by the all-star band - Louisiana Gator Boys - How Blue Can You Get? and New Orleans (with the Blues Brothers) which clearly demonstrate the premium that was placed on the music.
A great example of a soundtrack that stands on its own merits, Aykroyd opens up the briefcase one last time and lets the music do the talking.
BluesBrothers harmony November 11, 2006 The fineness music that I have heard in a long time. Ghost riders was a very refreshing tune done in a realistic beat. Of couse, the rest of the album brought the era of the 70's and 80's back to a tempo which made my big leg to bounce in rhythm.
Love the Movie, Love the Soundtrack... June 26, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed the movie, and watching it several times, I got into the music as well. I had to have the CD. Normally, I usually don't like buying soundtracks, but this one had a variety of upbeat music, reminding me what was happening throughout this movie.

Man this soundtrack rocks! It's got everybody who's anybody in Blues on it.
Good. Not Great. January 29, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Good collection of songs. But how, HOW could they not include the best song in the film on this album; the a capella version of "John the Revelator" that plays over the opening credits, performed by the incredible Taj Mahal, only to include the rather overdone choir version? Maybe Danny was busy counting his HOB profits. Meh.
