Outkast and Goodie Mob SOLD OUT August 16, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love the original dirty south. 8ball & MJG, Outkast, Goodie Mob and even original Master P. When I found out Gnarls Barkley was Cee-Lo from Goodie Mob. I was very dissappointed. You want to hear Cee-Lo sing, buy that Goodie Mob, Soul Food. I love Outkast and I bought their albums until Stankonia and Speakerboxx. Is this the trend in Hip-Hop and rap, change what has made you successful, to appeal to mainstream?
Crazy July 24, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I didn't realize it was just the one song. I could have got a mp3 online.
Crazy - Possibly- But Short December 8, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this CD specifically for the track entitled "Crazy". Anything else - hey, bonus!
Very, very short CD. But if you like the song "Crazy" - it's worth it.
Could there have been more...? Possibly....
(Rating 7 out of 10): Good Single From A Decent Album September 18, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I like this single. Danger Mouse flips a fast paced beat and Cee-Lo sings. This single "Crazy" has an experimental taste to it, just like the album "St. Elsewhere". Unfortunately, Cee-Lo has became pop, and less appealing to me now. I always like him when he was in the group Goodie Mob, but since he's hit a solo career and started singing more about less appealing things nowadays, I'm just not feeling him like I used to. Danger Mouse does a good job behind the boards producing this album as well as the lead single. This single gets a 7 from me, but the album it's on I give it a 6. It's a good album, but I just can't get into it from an experimental standpoint. If you enjoy experimental pop music, I recommend this single and the album for you.
Chandler Infamous, and I'm out. Peace everyone!
P.S.- This is a CD Single, meaning it's just the song "Crazy" and the instrumental. Obviously two reviewers didn't notice that before they bought this. This is just a warning for anyone else that it's not the full length album.
Ain't crazy...it's soul... August 26, 2006 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
You certainly ain't crazy liking this song. So much has been said of the collaboration between Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo and the resultant product from Gnarls Barkley.
First single, Crazy, was leaked a whole 6 months before the album was released. And therefore, created a big buzz over the song. Infectiously catchy and unquestionably soulful, Crazy is undoubtedly one of the year's best singles along with Thom Yorke's Harrowdown Hill. Cee-Lo's vocals possessed a pristine quality, firing the song into great heights.
It's one of the times when a collaboraton between two different artites that bears fruit this good.
