5 out of 5 stars Excellent magazine for every level of photographer   January 17, 2008
Wow. I subscribed to this one and Shutterbug. This one is packed full of tips, techniques and ideas that even a beginner can use. So far I like it a bit better than Shutterbug. But together they make a great arsenal for learning digital photography. I look forward to more issues of PopPhoto.

2 out of 5 stars Ad War!   November 16, 2007

I didn't notice how many ADs were really in this magazine.
You would think since this magazine isn't free, and you do have to pay a subscription, that ADs wouldn't be so overwhelming. Well...Out of the 152 pages this magazine has...108 of those were ADs.
Ummmm...Maybe they should rename their magazine.
Popular ADs & some photography.
Atleast this subscription was given to me for free.
If you want an artisticlly creative magazine with photos from people like YOU! then subscribe to JPG mag. You post your photos on their site, [...], and people vote for the specific category...if it gets the most votes, it gets in the mag. And no, I don't work for JPG...I just am very fond of their works.

1 out of 5 stars Good price but don't bother.   October 13, 2007

So when did Popular Photography begin publishing again, even if now under the name Popular Photography & Imaging? I had a 2 year subscription. They told me they were going to stop publishing, and switched my subscription over to Outdoor Photographer. It's all ads, anyway. You'd think they would let me know they were starting up again if that's what happened.

3 out of 5 stars Too many advertisements and not enough content   September 6, 2007

Magazine keeps you in touch with respect to new equipment (i.e., advertisments especially but also product reviews) and some technique. But just too many damn advertisements.

4 out of 5 stars Good value for beginners   August 15, 2007

I subscribed to this magazine a few months ago. Via Amazon, or the magazine itself, it's about a dollar an issue. For that price, you really can't go wrong. I'm a relative amateur, and I'm starting to look for ways to get better. "Popular Photography" provides me with information and tips that a beginner can use to improve his or her photos. I can see that the magazine would be less useful to more advanced amateurs or to pros; "Photo Techniques" would be a better resource for those people. Indeed, I may subscribe to that magazine when my subscription to "Popular Photography" runs out. Nevertheless, I am a happy subscriber to "Popular Photography," and I am satisfied with the magazine.
