Sure, you can use other casserole dishes for most souffle recipes, but the effect just isn't the same on the serving table. For classic style, nothing beats the looks of a puffy, perfectly risen edge peeking over the top of a straight-sided, rippled white souffle dish. Certainly, this can also be used for other casseroles, custards, or deep-dish fruit crisps--or any dish requiring oven time with an uncovered top. The Orient has a history of exquisite "china"...lol! Be that as it may, this is a well made piece of work. I expect to have many years of use from this... one of those lifetime purchases. I'm still psyching myself up to take the plunge and create a cheese souffle... which this is just the perfect size for! Oh yes, you can use this for MORE THAN "just" making souffles! Plain and simple: IMHO, it's worth buying. Gee, they should pay me for pushing their product... ROFLMAO!!!

They have a classic look and are perfect for mini-souffles. They can also be used to serve nuts and candies or for sauces and dressings. I love them!
