Excellent product! The WRD-204 definitely is a cut above the rest. We have used numerous other juicers of various types over the years and this one is going to be hard to beat. The main points of value noted were:
Warranty: 12 years on main unit, and life time on the extraction gears.
Service: Excellent, we ordered Friday and received the unit on Monday we had been told not to expect it until Tuesday or Wednesday as it would go out Monday. It went out Friday. The packaging was excellent and the unit was ready to use with minor assembly of the extraction gears and extraction screens.
Manual: Excellent simple, complete setup and operation instructions (not often seen today).
PROS:
#1-Solid clean lines of construction. No unneccessary parts, and clean up of the main power unit could be accomplished with a damp rag. All other components were quickly rinsed at the sink with warm water.
#2-The removable cord was a real plus! When using the machine on an island it did not have to be put away but merely disconnected, no tangled cord hanging off the counters either, a small but decided plus.
#3-Dual juice containers was another suprise, very convenient and the excellent ergonomic design a real plus, easy pour spout, easy to clean and child safe, no glass. Dishwasher safe and an easy fit in any dishwasher.
#4-Here is where we really felt the quality was way above every other machine we have used: the screens and extracting system come neatly packed in a quality soft plastic container that doubles as a pulp tray/storage tray. In it is neatly nestled not one but two of every extraction screen needed, each one of high quality stainless seated in heavy duty plastic self aligning holder. The stainless extraction gears are substantial, easily 2-3 times that of anything else we have every used and finely machined with a life time warranty.
#5-We found the WRD-204 power unit quiet, efficient, and quaint with its voice prompts a delight to the children. The feed rate is good, the foaming level lower than most, and the quantity and quality of juice produced are above average. Our old Champion juicer produced 46 oz apple juice for 5lbs this unit produced 63 0z. The real health difference we felt was in the quality of the juice produced, the twin health product was of superior taste and was successfully stored in the refrigerator for 36 hours without any deterioration. The Champion produced juice began to oxidize immediately. Carrot juice was also excellent with similiar results as that of the apple. We also made wonderful frozen fruit ice cream and nut butters with great success.
#6-The auto reverse feature worked well and is a decided advantage when running through hard vegetables like carrots in any quantity as one can overfeed the unit. It provides peace of mind if you are not sure wether you are working the machine to hard or not as the unit is so quiet and doesn't complain at the hard work.
Cons: The only thing we felt that could be improved would be the ventilation system, the unit needs to be left to cool after 15-20 minutes for an equal period of time. All things being considered the average user (family of 4)should not find this to be a hinderance as the unit can process approximately 8-12lbs of product in this time, for most households that is plenty, we have 7 family members and are used to juicing for about one hour or more at a time as we like to make enough juice for two days, 25-50 lbs. All we did was clean more product while waiting.
