I love rice, and I eat all different kinds of rice - basmati, jasmine, brown... This will do a good job cooking white rice, but that is it. Your brown rice will never get done and you have to keep adding water and starting it up again. This is just a mediocre appliance.

I never thought I'd ever buy a rice cooker. After all, who can't cook rice? Me, that's who. My rice was always a mess regardless of my water to rice ratio, etc. Lots of friends made suggestions but to no avail - this was embarrassing! So I jumped on Amazon and selected this unit. NO REGRETS! I've used it many times and the rice is spot on perfect every time. I read an article on the variety of rice dishes in the newspaper. When an asian chef was asked how she prepared the perfect rice, she simply said "Easy, I push a button." So now that's what I do! :)

I used to have a lot of problem with the rice sticking to the bottom with other rice cookers. The nonstick pot is this model is wonderful and I have never had any problems with the rice sticking to the bottom.
If you work the feature of the timer is great. You come back home after work and the rice is ready. Also if you enjoy brown rice, this cooker does a fantastic job.
I'm very satisfied with this rice cooker. It is an excellent product.

I must say, having no experience with a rice cooker i had no idea what to expect. After trying to make sushi rice the "old fashion way" and then making with with this cooker i can never see making it without this (or another) cooker. I've steamed some veggies and made several pounds of rice and have yet to be dissapointed. The only issue i could see is the rice gets a little dry if you leave it in the cooker with the top off... which is an easy fix, close the lid.
Possibly the best money i've spent in quite a while.
