Amazon.com Review Creating up to 1-1/2 quarts of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, or frozen drinks at home takes only about 20 minutes with this electric appliance, and salt and ice are not needed. After the machine's chilling chamber has been in the freezer for about eight hours the liquid between its walls is thoroughly frozen. The chamber then goes atop the power base, the unit's paddle goes into the chamber, the transparent top is locked in place, and the machine is turned on. Ingredients go into the chamber through an opening in the top as the paddle turns. The chamber chills the ingredients to whatever consistency is desired--though dense treats are hard to make because the paddle churns in air. Chocolate chips, chopped fruit, nuts, and other special ingredients can be added toward the end. The chamber is nonstick for easy cleanup. Storing it in the freezer ensures a frozen confection is only 20 to 40 minutes away when the mood strikes. The machine measures 10 inches in diameter and 15 inches high and weighs 9-1/2 pounds. It carries a 90-day warranty. A detailed instruction booklet including many recipes is included. --Fred Brack Editor's note: This is a reconditioned small appliance. Reconditioned generally means that the appliance has been returned to the manufacturer, who returns the appliance to like-new condition. Some appliances may contain cosmetic blemishes.

Yum Yum in your Tum Tum June 30, 2008 This product is great. I was a little nervous about ordering a factory refurb, but after reading the reviews on others who have gone the way of purchasing the refurbs I went for it. I am so glad I did. The machine was shipped and packaged beautifully, no way to tell this item from a brand new one. It works great, and my kids and I love making ice cream. One thing, be sure to follow the recipe for volume, or you will have some of the mix creeping out of the top. But it is an easy clean-up. Keep your bowl in the freezer and you can whip up some ice cream at any time.
nice so far June 25, 2008 I just ordered this ice cream maker because I am on a diet including dairy and fruits; I thought I'd make sorbets. I have used this machine twice and it works well. I will say my only grumble is the ingredients freeze to the sides of the bowl and leave a frozen ring around the inside which is difficult to remove without unfreezing. Since my diet involves measuring amounts, this makes some difficulty for me. That said, I did enjoy the finished products, and I haven't seen the troubles other people reported about "too soft" mixtures. I use cold ingredients which probably helps. Both my ice milk and fruit sorbet were delicious. Lastly, I bought a reconditioned unit, and it looks and performs perfectly.
Still working great June 23, 2008 I love this! My kids really enjoy making and watching the ice cream freeze. Have had it for years and no problems. I keep the bowl frozen so it is ready for use whenever we want. Love the cord storage too, wish more appliances had that.
Ice Cream Maker June 20, 2008 This is a great machine for making home made Ice cream and desserts, I really love it and use it weekly.
Works Great! June 12, 2008 It's just a little bit noisy, but works wonderfully! Product was shipped the very next day. I'm still experimenting with the recipes. I discovered that adding some dissolved Knox unflavored gelatin to the mixture keeps it from freezing up too hard and becoming "flinty". I'm also using natural sugar substitutes of Erythritol or Xylitol, so it's great for making desserts for diabetics!
