Amazon.com Review This tool increases the fun factor of your KitchenAid stand mixer several times over. Toss cubes of meat into the food tray, stomp 'em down, and watch the results wriggle out the front. Grind your own beef or chicken for patties or tacos. Blend your own sausage mixtures, from breakfast to boudin blanc. With additional attachments, you can turn it into a pasta maker or a sausage stuffer. It's easy to assemble and use. Most parts are dishwasher-safe; hand wash the grinding blades, wooden stomper, and cutting knife. --Betsy Danheim

Bought it as a gift.... October 14, 2008 I got it as a gift for a good friend of mine. She had been wanting one for a while. She seems to enjoy it. First thing she used it for was to make ground beef for chili, which was delicious. She said it worked great and had no complaints other than that it was difficult and gross to clean. But I guess I would expect this from something that grinds meat. Apparently if you use it to grind bread afterwards it gets all of the unwanted leftover flesh out of the grinder. But I guess from what she said I would consider buying one for my kitchenaid and therefore would recommend it to others.
best use for making jams October 1, 2008 Love this attachment for making apricot jam. My daughter has one and we have been exchanging back & forth for about 5 years, I finally realized I needed one of my own. The only way to go!!
not a commercial grinder September 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this one for my DH. He has been really happy with it, but I should say this is not a commercial food grinder that you will be able to grind up 90 lbs of meat at a time without any babying. The first time we used it, we learned quickly that any of the white connective tissue will clog the grinding plates. For our home use, making a little bit of ground meat here and there, this works great. We bought it with the sausage stuffer attachment and made some great deer sausages.
Gift for wife September 10, 2008 My wife thinks it works well. Makes all our breakfast sausage. Just follow directions about how different foods grind best and you'll get good results.
Not Rust proof August 11, 2008 The food grinder works nicely for grinding walnuts. With hazlenuts I had problem because they are tougher. I have to process it first and then grind it. The machine gets hot after a while using it for grinding. However the main concern that I have is that the metalic parts are not stainless steal and after washing should be dried out carefully. Otherwise you see the patch of rust all over it and should scrub them out. For such price I expected a little more attention to details like this.
