Awesome sturdy glasses!!! November 8, 2008 My husband has always used the 7 and 12 ounce in his restaurant and about 7 yrs ago I started ordering an extra case of each for our house ;-) They are REALLY sturdy and will most times withstand a tumble into the sink, a drop on hardwood or carpet without breaking. I never wanted my kids drinking out of plastic and the 7 ounce were ideal for little hands to grip. Sure they didn't all survive being dropped, but after all they are glass ! LOL They typically don't seem to shatter, but it is easy to assemble the broken pieces so I can tell if I found them all-then I vacuum and it's that easy. I am missing them right now as we are away from home- I have bought regular glasses from Walmart and they have all broken shockingly easily in less then 2 months! Plus it's such a danger factor, not only for the kids but when I'm doing dishes by hand! Our supplier back home is out of them, so I've been looking elsewhere to find them, so figured I'd leave a review while I was here looking.
Classic Design, Excellent Quality August 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have used the Libbey Gibraltar glasses for many years. After at least 10 years, we are finally buying replacements for losses due to natural wear and breakage. As others have said, these are extremely durable glasses. They take dishwashers very well. And, since this is a standard commercial glass (I think that these are sold to the restaurant trade as Libbey Dura Tuff glasses?), the design has been around a long time and it is easy to replace just those that have been broken rather than the entire set. Classic design, low cost, excellent quality--yes, you can still find these characteristics in an American-made product.
Perfect glasses, but irritating stickers on bottom August 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These glasses are perfect for my two-year-old's little hands. Unlike other glasses, she can grasp them easily, and they don't break when dropped: super strong. Besides, she likes drinking from glasses like the rest of the family rather than from a sippy cup. These are excellent glasses--and a good value. The only reason I rated them 4 stars instead of 5 is that every single glass in the box comes with a sticky tag on the bottom. You have to spend 15 minutes scraping these tags off before you use them. I didn't appreciate the waste of time, but I love the glasses!
Excellent juice glasses July 26, 2008 Glasses are well made heavy little tumblers. Also like that they match the other Gilbrater glasses made by Libbey
Great plastic free option for kids June 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We are trying to go plastic free so I had been looking for a good glass option for our kids. I went ahead and ordered these based on the reviews. I am very pleased. They are heavy bottomed so they don't tip easily. None have been dropped (yet), but I would be surprised if they did anything other than chip at most. Very good investment.
