Product Description A true kitchen essential, this 4-cup measuring cup from Pyrex is the perfect companion for preparing, baking and even storing. Pyrex glass does not retain food odors or stains, so cleanup is always a no-brainer. Two-year warranty.
Amazon.com Review A glass measuring cup like this four-cup model from Pyrex has the advantage of letting you see the ingredients you pour in, and lets you warm milk, for instance, in an oven or microwave before using in a recipe. Pyrex glass is non-porous, incredibly durable, and won't absorb food odors or stains. The open style handle makes nesting with other measuring cups or bowls easier. This particular cup features dark blue markings in both metric (200 to 1,000 ml) and standard (up to 4 cups, or 32 ounces), with lines in dark blue. There are no markings below the one cup line, so you'll need other measuring cups for smaller amounts. Above one cup, increments are only in thirds, so you'll have to estimate if the recipe calls for 2-1/4 cups. With the pour spout, this measuring cup is especially useful for liquids. Made in the USA, Pyrex is safe for the oven, microwave, and dishwasher. --Ann Bieri

Exactly what I wanted August 1, 2008 I have not had these Pyrex Prepware measuring cups long but they (I bought 3) are perfect for what I ordered them for. I am single and I make alot of soup dinners for myself and I hate the SALTY commercial dried/canned soups or beans. 3 cups of fresh soup seems to be a good evening meal for me and a 4 cup measuring/cooking/eating bowl is the perfect size to prepare/cook/eat it (did I mention that I'm a lazy old rascal?). Low sodium/low fat broth in boxes makes an excellent base (which I usually modify with seasalt to about 25-30% the salt commercial soups provide) with fresh or frozen veggies, fresh sliced meat or a small frozen bag of some meat prepared periodically by me for the freezer with my Foodsaver vacuum sealer when good grades and cuts of meat are cheap (chicken or shrimp is excellent but I find brisket is ideal and some places will slice it for you if you buy a moderately large piece), some spices, some pasta or Asian varieties of noodles, 20 minutes plus or minus in the MWave and an appetite, and you got a great fresh dish that cleans up in an eyeblink. I don't cook much anymore but trust me, I don't like junk food and some of these quick efforts taste as good as what you get in most restaurants. Some have complained about breakage and the uncomfortable handles but though I suspect that they are indeed, NOT bulletproof, I find that they do bounce admirably and I don't have any issue with the handles since the whole point of my cooking style is to reduce handling. If I was baking, perhaps I would feel different but there are lots of lighter, reasonably safe plastic cups that work great for dry ingredients. The inert qualities of the Pyrex glass preclude vile compounds from heating in the MWave. Apres dining, some 30 seconds of hot water and soap bring you back to square one with a clean dish and spoon. Ain't minimalism great? BTW- these cups will also cook oatmeal or grits very well too and if you use the versions from old time cartons or sacks instead of the little envelopes full of Soylent Green, those starches will taste better, cook almost as quickly AND be good for you too (but watch how much cheese you put in the grits). Also, they are somewhat lower and broader than your typical measuring making them more dining friendly.
Gotta have this in the kitchen! July 29, 2008 I could not live without my Pyrex glass measuring cups. I use them for everything, but sometimes the 2-cup ones just don't hold enough and that's when I go to this size.
These are so useful around the holidays when you find yourself doubling-up on recipes and as always, the quality you've come to expect from Pyrex will not disappoint.
We bought four: all four had chips or cracks July 21, 2008 We bought four of these measuring cups and are really disappointed that all four had chips or cracks. In the past, we have always loved Pyrex cups, but the ones we bought from Amazon all have defects: a crack in the middle or small, dark chips at the base. So we can use them, but cannot give them as gifts.
Love Pyrex. July 14, 2008 My parents had this when I was growing up & I used it constantly. Had to get one for myself. I have the 2 cup one as well. Very useful!
Durable Glass Measuring Cup July 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love my 4 cup glass measuring cup. I use in the microwave all the time. It's perfect to measure out your ingredients in and then just pop in the microwave and cook. One bowl cooking and measuring. This is the way I cook my instant potatoes when I make them.
The glass is really thick and heavy duty. Nice quality.
