Amazon.com Review Pistoulet, inspired by the magical farmhouse of the same name in Jana Kolpen's book, The Secrets of Pistoulet, expresses the sunny hospitality of southern France. Crafted of durable stoneware, this oval-shaped bowl beautifully serves up grilled asparagus, herbed roasted potatoes, pesto-infused pasta, and much more, and complements Pfaltzgraff's complete line of Pistoulet dinnerware, introduced in 2002. Unadorned on the inside, the buttery yellow exterior of the bowl is delicately hand-painted with green leafy vines, tiny bunches of purple grapes, and a thin terracotta wave. A band of soft blue accents the rim, while a sage green band circles the foot. Slight variations due to the hand-painting give each piece of Pistoulet a charm of its own. Measuring an ideal 10 by 7-1/2 by 2-1/2 inches, the serving bowl is safe for the oven and microwave and retains heat efficiently. Also safe for dishwasher and freezer, the bowl is backed by Pfaltzgraff's five-year warranty against defects. Pistoulet pieces come prettily packaged in sunflower yellow gift boxes. --Ann Bieri

Beautful, delicate color and pattern April 2, 2008 I own the Pistoulet dinner service as well. This bowl is a nice size, perfect for vegetables. The color and pattern are delicate and beautiful, but you can microwave food in it without the bowl heating up, and it is sturdy. Very satisfied.
Will buy another July 14, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very nice, and goes well with my dinnerware. I'm going to purchase a second one.
Pistoulet/vegetable/serve bowl July 13, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This bowl is beautiful. The oval shape is good for not only vegetables, but for pasta as well. I liked it so much, that I ordered two.
Fresh Pattern June 21, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've been admiring this pattern for quite some time and finally took the plunge and purchased 8 place settings. I've been adding serving pieces as I've seen them, either on sale or those that really catch my eye. The pattern is refreshing and bright with several different designs that all go together to create a delight table setting. I think the advantage of this set is that you can pick and choose which pieces you like since there are so many from which to do so. I've also used the wallpaper border in my laundry room and the throw rugs as well. It's carried the country theme through this room as well.
Beautiful small serving bowl October 17, 2003 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a beautiful little serving dish--I love the golden color and the vine of berries that circles the rim. It is a perfect compliment to the other Pistoulet items, and works well for serving up vegetables or side dishes. This particular design is what made me fall in love with Pistoulet in the first place--the colors could not be more beautiful. This peice is not too heavy, which is a good thing in a serving dish that will be passed around the table.
