If pleas to get your daughter to clean her room have been previously ignored, the Barbie(tm) Real Vacuum might give her a push in the right direction. Although it comes in signature Barbie pink with daisies, this vacuum actually works and is not a toy. Based on Bissell's popular Go Vac ultralightweight vacuum, the Barbie (tm) Real Vacuum runs on a 6-volt battery and, by pushing a button and pulling out the handle, it quickly converts to a handheld vacuum for cleaning small spaces. The vacuum is also bagless, with a dust cup that twists off and on, making it easy for kids to maintain the machine themselves. The revolving 7-inch-wide brush roll ensures deep cleaning of rugs and carpets, and the vacuum readily slides under beds and furniture. To turn on the power, just lower the handle from the vertical position. Assembly is simple and requires no tools. Bought one of these products for myself and for my dad, neither of us is impressed with this sweeper! Short battery life and not good at sweeping the floor clean. Would expect better quality from Bissell!

I bought this for my 8 year old this past December and overall the quality is about average. My daughter was cautious with it and always kept up with cleaning it out and setting it back on the charger. The problem is that after a couple months of use it quit holding the charge and runs at too low of a speed now to use for any kind of vacuuming. She was very disappointed given the fact she did try to take good care of it. We went to Target and bought a regular Eureka cordless vac and it is way better quality for less money. The Eureka may not be cute and pink but it is better quality and the charge lasts for a longer amount of time! So overall cute isn't worth it!
Nieces love it January 12, 2007
Bought this for my 6 year old Nieces, they love it and so does mom.
It dosen't have too much vacumme power to suck up the wrong stuff with, but is real enough that the girls, use it in their rooms and actually fight over who gets to use it first. They love the fact that it can clean up small messes of paper and dirt, but wont take a sock away.
 These should be given to every parent at birth January 10, 2007
Why didn't I get this sooner? I could have been cleaning up all of those loose Cherrios since the kid started solid foods! If you have a toddler this vacuum is a MUST! No bags or batteries. No on/off switch, just put the handle upright and it turns off. It does run out of juice after 10 or 15 minutes, but by then, you are tired of listening to it run.

The Scooby Doo model I gave as a gift to a 3-year-old boy, however, my daughter has the pink Barbie version. This is a wonderful product in that it is a real vacuum. It allows my daughter to "help" around the house and actually be helpful. The handle comes in segments such that the length can be adjusted as the child grows. For a cordless vacuum the battery life is good. Highly recommend. BTW, this gift was a HUGE hit!!
