High quality, effective and heavy. July 4, 2008
I got what I wanted with this hose reel. Good quality and ease of use. Please note that wall-mounting will require you to use studs as the anchoring points as this is a very heavy reel. I promptly pulled 4 hollow wall anchors out when I tried to take the easier route - lesson learned.
The reel winds and unwinds easily and truly makes life easier around the garage when using my air tools. Be sure to take some time to plan where you want to mount it in terms of access to the handle, your height and where you are most likely to use it. I'm happy to recommend this to anyone.

This is exactly as advertised. A very sturdy and well-designed manual reel for air hose. I mounted mine on a cut-down moving dolly that has a Makita compressor bolted to the bottom. Easy to move the compressor and reel at the same time.
A Must-Have for a Well Organized Shop April 15, 2004

Compressed air is great to have, but without convenient access, you won't use it except for major projects. This reel makes for that convenient access. I paired this reel with two 50' Goodyear 3/8 rubber hoses and mounted it to the shop wall near the overhead door. Now I have air anywhere in the shop or the driveway in seconds...and the hose goes back away in seconds. I reach for an air gun, ratchet, tire chuck, etc. far more often since I don't have to fight with the hose. The spring brake really works: the hose plays out gently as you draw it, but doesn't keep spilling off the reel after you stop.Well worth it...highly recommended.
