Amazon.com Review
Serious quilters and sewing professionals know the benefits of having a high-quality iron, especially one with an extra-large water tank that needs refilling less often. Made in Germany with comfort and technology hand in hand, the Rowenta features a soft-grip handle, ideal for this large, heavier-weight iron; a transparent 12.7-ounce water tank with a sliding cover over the fill hole and anti-drip system; and a burst of steam that lasts longer and is forcibly shot into stubborn fabric wrinkles. The iron's soleplate is polished stainless steel that will never chip or peel. Other functions include spray, variable steam, and steam-free ironing, as well as vertical ironing for drapes.

Safety is a high priority for Rowenta. This iron shuts off automatically under three different circumstances: after eight minutes of standing vertically without use, and after 30 seconds if left flat on the soleplate or if it has toppled over on its side. A lift or gentle shake reactivates the iron and a light comes on indicating the iron is in use. The iron also features a flexible cord mount for easy maneuverability and an anti-slip frame for stability. Rowenta covers the iron with a one-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

2 out of 5 stars Worked great for 2 years   August 10, 2008
This is my second Rowenta and it seems that they only last 2 years... If I can get parts to fix this one... I'll keep it... If not hello Black & Decker!!

5 out of 5 stars Rowenta Iron   June 24, 2008
I love how easy it is to add water to this iron. I had another Rowenta that was more difficult to fill (That one worked great too, until I dropped it one too many times). This iron is a great product

1 out of 5 stars Keeps shutting off during ironing   May 18, 2008

My husband just purchased this iron because he didn't like my basic Black & Decker. The darn thing keeps shutting off while I am ironing. It's only supposed to do that if you set it down and leave it for 8 minutes. For example, I set it down vertically to go lay the pair of shorts I was ironing on my folding table, and when I turned around, it had shut off. I had only left it for maybe 20 seconds! I have to fiddle with it to get it to come back on again and then it keeps happening even if I just set it down to turn an item of clothing over to iron the other side. Also the dial underneath the handle is in an awkward place. I am so frustrated that I just want my plain and simple Black & Decker back!

2 out of 5 stars Randomly stopped working   April 8, 2008

i've had this iron for less then two years......i loved it.....it would almost instantly take out the wrinkles.....and then about a couple of weeks the ago, the "burst of steam" button just stopped working....now although the iron still works it takes a much londer time for me to iron my clothes and it is not as crisp as before.....also it always leaks water as i'm ironing....overall when it was working properly...it was the bomb!!!....but i never expected it to break down in less than two years after spending so much money for it.....
