Is it safe? April 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just bought two Pur water pitchers but, they are made from polycarbonate and probably contain BPA. Sent emails two PUR requesting info but they won't answer.
Love Our Pur Water Dispenser!!! April 29, 2008 I can't stand drinking tap water as I think it tastes & smells nasty!!
Over the years we've tried just about everything to have great tasting water from having water delivered from a company which delivers water to your home, purchasing 2.5 gallon water-filled containers from the grocery store, & trying two or three other water filters over the years, BEFORE FINALLY FINDING THE RIGHT ONE!!!
Pur 2 Stage Water Dispenser is absolutely wonderful!! It is both convenient & easy to use. Plus doesn't take up much space. We have two Pur 2 Stage Water Dispensers. One kept inside the refrigerator for cold water and the other one inside our kitchen pantry for room temperature water.
Tap water tastes great now and doesn't smell funny once filtered through the Pur 2 Stage Water Dispenser. We change our filters about every 8 weeks.
One of my Top purchases April 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Being an cross country runner, I used to be one of those people who used hundreds of bottles of water to quench my thirst. I have previous tried a Brita pitcher and a Brita facet mount. Neither of which was happy with. I then gave this Pur filter a try... IT IS AMAZING
I can not tell you how much money I have saved over the past 3 years using this! I believe I have used 5 filters total compared to literally hundreds of bottles of water. (Not to mention the environmental concern from all these bottles)
Pro's 1. Water does taste noticeable better 2. Holds an enormous amount of Water 3. Filters although expensive, are cheap when compared to the amount of money one would pay for the amount of bottles equivalent
There are a few Con's 1. Filter rate does slow over time (however I do continue using the filter untill the dot moves all the way to the replace side) 2. Takes up allot of space in fridge
Overall this was an excellent investment, not only for me, but also for my wallet and the environment. And i can tell this thing really does filter particles out. When I moved to college the water quality must have been much worse, and as a result I now tend to replace the filter once more a year than before.
Better than Brita April 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This replaces several (one at a time) Brita on faucet filters.
Although I miss the on faucet feature, this water seems to taste better and the in fridge container works well and is easy to fill. I transfer water to half gallon jugs for quick pouring.
Although I would like some sort of filter monitor, I think these will last me at least three months each, if not more.
The best part is that I no longer have to deal with a flooded counter top nor get sprayed everytime I use the Brita.
Next best thing to having a fridge with a water dispenser April 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had bought this dispenser after moving to an apartment which had terrible water quality and a fridge lacking a water dispenser. I first added the faucet-mount PuR filter and was quite happy with it, but it left me with the problem of only warm water to drink (FL tapwater is quite warm compared to up north).
Bought this dispenser and couldn't have been happier. Ice cold water in the fridge without having to wait eeons for the Pur faucet mount to fill a glass. It's probably 4-5 years old now and still works fine. After moving to my new house with all new appliances including a fridge w/PuR filter and dispensers, I gave this dispenser to a friend who still uses it daily.
Good build quality, great tasting water.
