love it July 9, 2008 was looking and looking for night lights. Used a few different ones and did not like them. Found this one on-line decided to give it a try. So I bought 2. One for my son and one for my daughter. They loved them. They have dimmers and timers. They are easy to use. The pink is not as bright as the blue. Very durable. They have fallen down stairs and been put in mouths. I plan on buying more for other parts of the house. Great product.
Great idea, great product, easy to use and safe for your baby! June 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I originally bought the pink and saw and bought the orange color from babysrus. My baby girl loves her tyke light. The pink is a little too bright for her when we are trying to get her to sleep so she is using the orange exclusively. I set it in her crib and she immediately stops fussing, turns towards her "buddy" and eventually falls a sleep.
I use the pink one myself, when I get up to feed her or check on her. It has been a great night light for all of us! Is easy to turn on and off, adorable to look at, is always cool to touch, easy to charge and use.
It has lasted about 9-10 hours so far. As per the directions, it is good to let the charge run low often so that the battery can have the chance to recharge. This ultimately extends the hold time or at least insures that your Tyke light will hold the said charge time.
One thing I noticed however is that the orange one we bought won't turn off when out of charge, instead it starts to blink. Worst yet, you cannot turn it off, the only way it will go off is by plugging it in. This has been happening from the day we brought it home. The pink one is not like that. I think that some units may be defective, so it may be a good thing to contact the seller and let them know if you are having issues (not charging well, blinking when low and not going off etc.).
I have dropped both of them quite a few times and they have held up super (not recommended though), the pink one did split in half once and I was able to snap it back together and it still works great.
All in all, a fantastic product! Our baby girl is mesmerized by it and has helped me immensely to transition her to her crib! I would give it 6 stars if I could ;-)
Experiment with different colors so that you can find what works for your baby/child.
if you're particular about the color... May 6, 2008 When it glows it's not the purply color seen sometimes online but a lit-up neon pink type color; in a dark room it almost glows red. the radiant light isn't very bright but the object itself is dark neon pink. It's fun but not great for sleep -- think Seinfeld's episode where Kramer had the red neon light flashing outside his room and was going crazy! We also have the lavender one -- a much more tranquil, light color when lit, lighter than pictured online. If you want a gentle night-time light for a girl's room, the lavender would be the better choice!
Great little light May 3, 2008 This is a wonderful little light to keep in your child's bedroom. It has a very soft glow so you can see well in the dark and you won't wake your child with a bright light. There are 3 settings; the first is dim, the second is supposed to be brighter, but it's not a whole lot brighter than the first setting, and the 3rd setting will keep the light on for 45 minutes and slowly dim the light until it shuts off. Good night light for children that have trouble falling asleep in the dark or afraid of the dark.
Fun, but poor quality April 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My son loves to play with this light, but when it comes to comforting his fear of the dark, it's pretty useless. My daughter has a yellow one that works great, but the blue one has always been very dim, the light just doesn't get through the dark color of the plastic as well. The battery life is not as advertised either, this light has always lasted a maximum of 6 hours. After just a few short months, I'm back at amazon looking for a replacement.
